Christine Hamilton thinks Sally Bercow’s appearance on Celebrity Big Brother is “demeaning and humiliating”.  And she should know!

The I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! star – who is the wife of former MP Neil Hamilton – thinks the 41-year-old mum-of-three is showing “a complete lack of respect” for her husband, Commons Speaker John Bercow, by taking part in the Channel 5 fly-on-the-wall show.

Christine said: “It’s demeaning and humiliating. She’s showing a complete lack of respect to her husband and his office.

“When the Sally Bercow circus first started I supported her, why should wives be defined by their husbands? But she has gone completely over the top. She has a responsibility to her husband to respect his dignity and the dignity of his office, no wonder he is cowering in India.”

Christine thinks in appearing on the show, Sally is preparing for “life after Mrs. Speaker”, which could come sooner than she’d imagined if her husband has to leave office because of her involvement.

She added to MailOnline: “Sally is preparing the way for life after being Mrs. Speaker, now I don’t know if that will be when her husband leaves office, or if it will be that they will separate.”
