Competition: Get involved in The Office flashprank and win an iPod Touch

the office US prank.jpgFor me, working in an office is a wash-out. I get less-work done and I can’t help but feel obliged to take liberties. I steal stationary, I talk too much… and best of all… play practical jokes on people. I was always a fan of hiding inappropriate things in people’s drawers (a sheep skull was a highlight). Practical jokes keep the office dweller from going completely mental. Well, get this: Now, you can play a prank on someone and win things for it. Seriously. Comedy Central have hit upon the idea that we should have a Flashprank Friday (Flashmob + Prank. Geddit?). On 22nd May they want you to inject a bit of life back into your office at the expense of others… but what do you win? Well…

TV Scoop Competition: Win L Word series five DVD boxsets

Monday, April 20th, 2009

lworddvd.png

The L Word is one of those US shows that has sort of sneaked under the radar, despite attracting a cult audience over the five years it has been going. Airing out on LIVING in the UK, The L Word was once billed as a lady lesbian version of Sex And The City, but has, over the years, found its own voice. It tells the soapy stories of a community of gay women, men and transgender men around the LA area. It stars the likes of Jennifer Beals, Mia Kershner and Pam Grier, is unlike any relationship drama you’ve seen before. We’ve teamed up with The L Word people to offer you the chance to win two DVD boxsets containing all 12 episodes from series five and all manner of extras. To win one, go over the jump.

TV Scoop Competition: Win The Apprentice DVDs!

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

52710_TheApprentice_DVD_2D.jpg

The Apprentice is massive, we all know that, mainly because it features some of the brightest and intuitive minds in the country. What I really meant to say was: it features some stupidest showers of shite anyone can ever hope to see on a television screen. But that’s the fun of the show, right? Anyway, we’ve teamed up Sir Alan Sugar himself to offer you the chance to win five best-of Apprentice DVDs, which include loads of entertaining bits from series one-to-four and some audition footage for this year’s show. All you have to do to win one is take a dive over the jump and answer the really easy question. Good luck!

TV Scoop Competition: Win an Eoghan Quigg CD!

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

packshot_eoghan.jpg

Calling all fans of the X Factor. Remember last year when a cheeky young 16-year-old from Northern Ireland made it to the final, ousting his then girlfriend, Diane Vickers, on the way? It was a remarkable story back then, and his story is still remarkable thanks to the release of his debut album. No acid-grunge-funk here, just straight-down-the-line McFly-style popular music that should get his fans in a lather. Check this, the album is called Eoghan Quigg, which is the same as his name! It also has the smash single, 28,000 Days on it, so it must be good. We’ve teamed up with Eoghan’s people to offer you the chance to win one of 10 copies of the new album. Want to know how? Have a look after the jump.

Dexter competition winners in full

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

fire-thumb-130x91-83207.jpg

A few weeks ago we teamed up with the fine people who release the Dexter DVDs to offer you the chance to win three Dexter series two boxsets. Nice, right? Exciting even. Now I’m happy to say, thanks to a random choosing process, these are the three winners. So… Victoria Pickering from Birkenhead, Cara Taylor from Plymouth and Louise Lamb from Ipswich, take special care when looking through your mail in the next few weeks. There might be a new Dexter DVD in there somewhere. Victoria, Cara and Louise won because they all correctly deduced that the name of Dexter’s policeman nemesis in series two was Sergeant Doakes. Not John Noakes. Nice one nice one!

Dexter S2 Packshot.jpg

As regular readers will know, we here at TV Scoop love a bit of Dexter, the show that features Michael C Hall playing a serial killer with a difference. We voted it very highly in our Top 50 last year (go here to have a look) and with series three just around the corner on FX (check back later on for interviews with Michael C Hall and Jennifer Carpenter) it seems only right that we offer you the chance to win three series two boxsets, which has all the episodes as well as some lovely extras. To win one go over the jump and answer the easy question. Couldn’t be simpler!

Competition winners in full

fire.jpg

Morning all. We’ve been running a few competitions recently and it’s only fair that I tell you who the winners are. As ever, the winners have been selected at random and the people who have entered (thanks to everyone who took the time to put virtual pen to paper) will have their details shared with anyone else. So without further ado… a couple of weeks ago we teamed up with Paramount Home Entertainment to offer you the chance to win five copies of The Hills series three boxset. The question? What magazine does Lauren work for in series three? The answer? Teen Vogue. The winners? Sharon Middlemiss from Wallsend, Tyne & Wear; Joanna Samll from Eastham Wirral; Sarah Ress from Llanelli; Kayleigh Jennings from Bury St Edmonds and Anji Kilvert-King from West Bromwich. Nice one. Last week, meanwhile, we teamed up with Paramount again to offer you the chance to win three copy of Dynasty series one and two boxset, and asked you who played Alexis Carrington-Colby. The answer was Joan Collins. The winners are: Toni Quant from Crawley; Genevieve Hassan from London; and Cara Taylor from Plymouth. Congratulations one and all.

Dynasty Season 1 Packshot.jpg

Remember the Eighties? You’d be hard pressed not to these days as youths sashay in the uniforms of that decade. They all listen to the music too. But what about TV? As it happens we’ve got loads of re-made stuff from the 1980s knocking about our screens at the moment as well. Yes, the late Noughties are a carbon copy of the Eighties. One show that cannot be re-made is Dynasty, the trashy, glamorous soap I remember watching with my mum. It featured rich people in Denver doing bitchy things to each other, and gave global exposure to the fashion phenomenon that was shoulder pads. They good news is that we’ve teamed up with Paramount to offer you the chance to win three boxsets of series one AND two. To win one, all you have to do go over the jump and answer the wee-easy question!

TV Scoop Competition: The Hills, series three boxset!

Hills 3 3D Packshot.jpg

We haven’t done a competition for ages, and I’m determined to get them going again because you, our loyal readers, deserve some sort of reward (anything) for putting up with our drivel. So here we go – our first competition for ages. Love it or hate it, but The Hills is a Noughties phenomenon. It’s glamorous, vacuous and entirely addictive, so we’ve teamed up with Paramount to give you the chance to win one of five series three boxsets. In the third series of the MTV reality behemoth, everything is on the line with a nation of eager viewers ready and waiting to find out if Hollywood is big enough for a group of friends beginning to split at the seams. The question is who will still be standing by Lauren’s side at the end? Featuring all 28 episodes of the highly popular show and jam-packed with over two hours of special features including cast interviews, commentaries, deleted scenes and footage from The Hills Premiere Party, the boxset is the ultimate for any Hills fan. Wanna win? Simply go over the jump and answer the easy question!

TV Scoop Competition: Win Sarah Connor DVDs

Monday, August 18th, 2008

Woolie LT Double Slip.jpg

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles rocked like a beast earlier in the year. It sort of slipped under the radar too, which was a shame – Lena Heady was terrific, and the series breathed new life into an ailing franchise. Nice work to all. The good news is that we’ve teame dup with the people who release the series one DVD boxset to offer you, our fine readers, the chance to win one of five. You’ve no doubt seen it in the shops and cast a jealous eye over it. It’s a lovely, the-disc set, with bonus features like deleted scenes and bonus footage. So why don’t you enter our competition? It’s easy. Just go over the jumpo, answer a stupid question and email us your answer.

Your last chance to take the Cisco survey and win Linskys multi-media clobber

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

WAG160N angle shadow.jpg

Not long to go now, so here’s another reminder about the survey that our chums at Cisco have been running. The good news you still have a bit of time to fill it in.

It’s quite a painless and fun survey that has sent our excitement levels soaring. Well, I think the sun has sent our excitement levels soaring (paddling pools, oysters from the ice cream van etc etc), but the survey is still pretty good. As surveys go that is. We have teamed up with Visual Networking experts Cisco to undertake some research into how you engage with online video.

TV Scoop competition: Win Heroes soundtrack!

Monday, May 12th, 2008

heroes_resized.jpg

Oh we do like a bit of Heroes here on TV Scoop, and we’re very pleased to report that series two is going along nicely with no let-up in pace. It’s obviously one of the best things on telly by some distance, so that’s why we’re rather excited to be teaming up with the people who have put together the Heroes Official Soundtrack. Now, music isn’t necessarily the first thing I notice when I watch the show, but this OST album is a bit different – it features not only songs that have been in the show but also songs that have been inspired by the show. So, we have tunes from David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Bob Dylan, Nada Surf and Panic At The Disco. We also have the first new song from Jesus And The Mary Chain for over a decade. To find out how to win a copy, jump over…

TV Scoop competition: Win Ashes To Ashes DVD!

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

ashestoashes_main_619x251.jpg

Due to technical difficulties this didn’t publish properly, so let’s try this again shall we? Ashes To Ashes was fun, wasn’t it? I enjoyed it, not as much as Life On Mars, but it was still several notches up from your average British TV drama. With the second series already in production, here’s your chance to own the entire first series with one of those marvellous DVD disc type-thingies. If want to be in the hat to win one, read over the jump for the question…
