Trailer Trash: Hotter Than My Daughter

Monday, February 1st, 2010

hotter than my daughter.jpgTV doesn’t do itself any favours when trying to convince us that it isn’t dumbing down. Apparently, the next series of Britain’s Got Talent will see a man who is able to puke up coins in any order you like. Seriously. I’m not making that up. Until then, we’ve got Liz McClarnon fronting a show that defies all logic called Hotter than my Daughter. Starting this week on BBC Three, we’ll see mutton dressed as a kebab women embarrassing their offspring. We’ve got a clip of the first show right here.

I can’t win. Anyway, for anyone still left, the show (which is actually very good) airs this Sunday at 9pm on BBC Three.

Trailer Trash: Four Weddings, LIVING

Friday, July 17th, 2009

4weddings-300x198.jpg

LIVING’s Four Weddings has been billed as Come Dine With Me-style show with, erm, weddings. But I’ve spoken to a few people who have seen it and they’ve said it’s an insult to Come Dine With Me to even mention it in the same breath. Still, if you enjoy watching this kind of thing (people slagging off other people’s weddings), it could be for you. Just a word on the press launch of this, which I sadly wasn’t able to attend – it was a lavish affair, which saw the whole place decked out like a wedding. And lo, reality TV inflatable boobed star, Nicola McClean, renewed her marriage vows or got blessed or something. The journalists were encouraged to sing songs during the ceremony. Funny, huh? Anyway, the next episode of Four Weddings is on LIVING on Monday 20 July, at 9pm. There are two clips after the jump…

Trailer Trash: True Blood, FX

Thursday, July 16th, 2009

6a00d8341bfc7553ef00e5539b96d18834-640wi.jpg

The wait is almost over. True Blood, Alan ‘Six Feet Under’ Ball’s latest entry into the HBO canon, starts on FX tomorrow night (Friday 17 July, 10pm), and it really is a doozie. It stars Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer in a kick-arse vampire tale, imbued with Ball’s trademark intelligence and humour. It’s also filthy as you like. Series two is doing enormous business for HBO at the moment, but we’re getting series one right about now (which is obviously rubbish, but that’s what we have to live with). Anyway, there’s a couple of clips after the jump. Enjoy!

Trailer Trash: Psychoville, episode three

Monday, June 29th, 2009

psychoville_french_400.jpgSeems ages away, doesn’t it, 2 July? But it’s not! That’s this Thursday! Where’s the year gone, eh? Though it’s probably our fault – we keep wishing the time away until next Thursday to see Psychoville… what I particularly love about the show is that the (possible) murder mystery storyline is just as strong as the comedy; I don’t just tune for a laugh (and to be quite disturbed) but because I genuinely want to know what will happen next. And in that spirit, there’s a clip of the next episode over the cut – David’s in drag and don’t worry, no spoilers…
