Oh dear Kerry Katona is once again causing controversy but this time it’s for her performance on Dancing on Ice.
Following Sunday’s show viewers have kicked up a fuss, claiming that the show was a fix after Kerry remained and Dave Vitty got the boot.
Kerry is a favourite on the TV show, but I’m sure that’s for the publicity she causes rather than her dancing. Viewers are now complaining after the judges left Kerry in after voting 2-1 to get rid of Dave.
The vote that kept Kerry in the contest came from the usually rude Jason Gardiner – who had previously branded her the pits. She had slammed him as an “a***wipe”.
Last night Jason defended the claims insisting: “That’s laughable.
“I judge on the skate-off and only that. She was better than Dave on the night.”
Oh dear Kerry, causing trouble again?

Another day and another update to the Jason Gardiner vs Karen Barber fight.
Today rumours are circulating that the “bitchy judge” was apparently furious after being forced by Dancing On Ice bosses to apologise to Karen. He had to utter the “S” word after asking the head coach and formal panelist on Sunday who would listen to what she had to say.
Following the results show Twitter and fan forums were inundated with angry viewers demanding he apologise. Ofcom also received complaints forcing Philip Schofield to defend Jason.
A source told the Daily Mail: “Jason was furious he had been made to apologise.
“He kept saying: `Everyone in Britain has gone PC mad. Everyone in the UK is so scared of being offended, it’s going to get to the point where you won’t be able to say anything on TV at all’.”
And despite ITV receiving over 3000 complaints regarding the incident Jason has been assured he will not lose his job.
He wrote on his Twitter page: “Thank you to all of you who have sent me kind support during this rather precarious time.
“But there are others who are very disturbed indeed.”
A spokesperson confirmed: “Jason has been spoken to by producers and that is the end of the matter.”
However, ITV1 executives reportedly didn’t hesitate to reprimand the judge, and told him his behaviour was “completely out of order”.

Philip Schofield has had a little bit of a rant on his Twitter page.
The Dancing on Ice presenter has decided to defend “nasty” judge Jason after a row broke out between him and head coach Karen Barber during the live shows on Sunday.
Viewers were appalled by the behaviour and many took it upon themselves to complain to Ofcom demanding he be sacked.
However Philip decided that the row had gone too far, writing on his Twitter page: “Right, enough. Please do not expect me to condemn Jason or to expect his sacking!”
“Its crazy Ofcom have been swamped by complaints, why is this now the first port of call for ‘The Outraged’ Why? No matter what the misdemeanour, is the general howl ‘sack ‘em’?
“Yes, a disagreement between 2 people spilled on to the telly, but it’s not the first row to be broadcast and it won’t be the last. If every tiny thing that might offend someone somewhere was cut, there’d be nothing to watch!! I’m a big fan of Karen & Jason, I don’t think they’ll be friends, but they should BOTH be on DOI.”
He added those offended by his Tweets should also go to Ofcom – don’t he was only joking.

There were tears and tantrums before bedtime last night in a shocking edition of Dancing on Ice.
The tears were shed by Jennifer Metcalfe who was given the boot after three judges voted in favour of rapper Vanilla Ice.
However, her tears and exit came second to the huge row and tantrums between head coach Karen Barber and bitchy judge Jason Gardiner.
More tears were shed by Karen who began shouting at Jason for talking down to her before adding: “You are so offensive. You are a nasty man.”
Who said Sunday night tele was boring?

Dominic Cork became the first celebrity in the history of Dancing On Ice 2011 to be voted off by their fellow contestants.
The twist, which came as no surprise considering it was advertised all week, gave the DOI stars the power to decide who would leave after a skate-off between two contestants.
That vote was based on a mix of the public vote and the judges’ votes from earlier in the evening.
However, I started filing my nails half way through as the notion of having celebrity come out and explain the reason for their decision, then skate to the person they wanted to save, just dragged on and on.
Dominic went up against TV presenter Jeff Brazier and his skating partner Isabelle, who performed to Jack Johnson’s ‘Better Together.’

Steven Arnold’s Dancing on Ice departure was some what overshadowed last night when judge Emma Bunton announced her engagement live on air.
Emma, who is expecting her second child told viewers of the ITV show that she was a “very happy lady” before flashing her rock.
The ex popstar already has a son with now fiance Jade Jones.
Congrats Emma.

Steven Arnold became the fifth celebrity to be voted out of Dancing On Ice 2011 last night.
The Corrie star failed to make the cut after being branded a “natural disaster” by the judges and lost out to cricket champion Dominic Cork in the dance offs.
Steven said: “It’s all a blur when you’re out there but I’ve really enjoyed it. I’m not a natural skater but I put my heart and soul into it.”
The star scored just seven points from the judging panel and his performance was likened to that of a drunk at a seaside resort.
Jason said: “You’re a natural disaster. It’s like watching someone who’s had one too many at a tacky awful seaside resort.”
Other dramas of the week include Jennifer Metcalfe who slashed open her leg and needed stitches during practice and Kerry Katona who thought she’s suffered a mishap in the boob department last night.

Elen Rivas became the third celebrity to be voted off Dancing on Ice on Sunday after losing her fight against Craig McLachlan & Maria Filippov and Jennifer Metcalf & Sylvain Longchambon.
And it seems there’s alot of speculation as to why it was her time to go – apart from the low scores that is.
According to outspoken judge Jason Gardiner Elen’s “arrogance” was her downfall.
He claims that the girlfriend Peter Andre was seen telling skating champions Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean she wasn’t happy with her routine.
“Elen wasn’t the worst skater but she didn’t do herself any favours with her attitude,” Jason said.
“From her video she came over as arrogant. You don’t question Torvill and Dean. They know what they’re doing.”

She may have been booted out on the first episode of Dancing on Ice, but Nadia Sawalha isn’t bitter towards her fellow contestants.
In fact, the former Eastender has nothing but love for one of them. She claims that Vanilla Ice will soon worm his way into our British hearts when we see how “normal” and “amazing” he is.
The actress told Digital Spy: “People are going to find out that he’s an amazing person.
“He’s been married to the same woman for 15 years, he doesn’t drink, he doesn’t smoke and he’s the most normal guy.”
She added: “If I had to describe him, I’d say he was a ‘thoroughly nice chap’. If people get to see that then he could win through as well.”
What do you think of Vanilla Ice. Is he the chap Nadia has him down for or is it all an act? Leave your comments below and let us know.

The first two victims of Dancing on Ice were revealed last night as Angela Rippon and Nadia Sawalha became the first stars to leave the show.
The pair received the lowest number of public votes after taking part in a triple skate-off last night in the first of the two knockout rounds. This year there are only 12 places up for grabs in the contest, which begins properly in two weeks.
Only half the celebs performed their routines this week, with the remainder taking to the ice this coming weekend. Those who were saved this week include Kerry Katona and Jeff Brazier.

Kerry Katona and Jeff Brazier are some of the “celebs” looking to revamp their careers by appearing in next year’s Dancing on Ice.
They join the line-up for the show, which kicks off in January, and includes the usual mix of ex-soap stars, TV presenters and pop stars all looking for their “next big break.”
However, this year there are a few credible contenders. Most notably Victoria Cross winner Lance Corporal Johnson Beharry.
The show is also adding a new twist with plans to boot out four of the contestants before they get through to the competition stage. Please, gods of TV make sure Kerry gets chucked out. We can’t bear to have her on our TV screens for two seconds, let alone hours and weeks.

There’s just no stopping that loudmouth ex-Atomic Kitten Kerry Katona is there? It looks as though the star (though that title is somewhat questionable) is gearing up for her next TV project, having been photographed doing what we can assume as practising her moves for ITV’s reality show Dancing On Ice, which is set to air from January to March next year.
It’s no news that Kerry has always wanted to be a contestant on the show and could now be in the process of signing up to take part – or just making it very obvious that she is keen. The 29-year-old is apparently hoping that the show will enable her to win the hearts of the nation after her recent troubled years that have seen her very publicly deal with depression, drug abuse and a dramatic split with husband Mark Croft.
However, if the rumours are true then ruthless Dancing On Ice judge Jason Gardiner won’t be happy as he has previously claimed that he would quit the show if Kerry Katona was to ever become a contestant.
As much as I’m not a fan of Kerry, I have to admit that it could make for quite entertaining viewing!

While I will happily sit down in front of I’d Do Anything, Big Brother and – last year at least thanks to a bit of talent – The X Factor, Dancing On Ice has always utterly failed to hold my attention. But, committed TV reviewer that I am, I decided to give it another go, and over the cut you can follow my thoughts via the notes I took as a draft text message while I watched. Oh it’s all high tech around here…

Dancing on Ice (or: Strictly Come Ice Skating) returns to our screens on Sunday night (ITV1, 7pm) and as ever, people will take the whole thing personally when their faves get the chop or slagged off by a bitchy judge. Like Strictly Come Dancing, there will be a lot of things to look out for that you’ll have seen before, such is the restrictive nature of these kinds of shows (not that it’s a bad thing per se). So, if you’re settling down for the show on Saturday, why not play TV Bingo? Cross these off your list and reward yourself with a ginger nut/shot of absinthe!

Loads of actors say “I really am nothing like the characters I play.” Whatever. We all know that you’re all exactly like your characters… especially those of you who get typecast. Joan Collins is clearly a cold-hearted swine and Neil Morrissey is obviously the loud-mouth simpletons he tends to play. Clearly, using these two lame and not-really-very-true examples (I’m sure Collins and Morrissey are fine, upstanding people) mean that the rule is surely right. If you apply this rule to Dancing On Ice starlet, Gemma Bissix, she must be an evil witch who has come back to our screens to summon up dark forces and dart the same evil eyes she darted in Hollyoaks and EastEnders. Don’t believe me? She’s already at it!

I know you’ve all been desperate to hear who will be appearing on the next series of ITV’s ice-dancing reality farrago, Dancing On Ice. You haven’t? Got more important things to worry about? Pah. Well, just wait until I give you some names. Then you’ll feel silly.

So Chris Fountain, Suzanne Shaw and Zaraah Abrahams made it to the final, which took place in one show over two hours. When this series began, the thought of being stuck watching it for two hours horrified me. Last night I could hardly wait for it to start. I suppose it’s like a kind of Stockholm Syndrome…
For the final, the contestants had to perform three routines – the first featuring the required element – flying (on wires), the second their own choice of favourite routine from the series. Then one would be knocked out and the final two would each get to perform a version of Torvill and Dean’s classic Bolero. If that wasn’t enough excitement, the audience had the final say, the judges’ scores counted for nothing.

It’s the final of Dancing On Ice this coming Sunday and I’ve been a bit dismayed by the whole hype surrounding it. I mean, I really do think it’s a rip-off of Strictly Come Dancing, but I can understand why people enjoy it. For me Strictly wins out because it’s really glamorous, old-fashioned entertainment where the crowd are close and a crucial part of the show. The crowd is so far away in DOI you don’t get a sense of atmosphere (apart from rabid screaming from some sections of the audience). Torvill and Dean too… why are they there? Isn’t it enough for the professional dancers to be there? And the judges… anyway, I have issues with the show, and that’s why I don’t watch it.
But the thing that really gets my goat is the continuing fascination with Holly Willoughby’s cleavage. In my book, she’s annoying at the best of times, but I feel sorry for her on this occasion. Thanks to The Sun’s ‘phwoar, look at those’ articles, Holly’s bangers have been featured in every preview that I’ve seen of the show. This can’t be right… do people really care that much about someone’s boobs? And if so, why?

I’ve been criticised vehemently in the comments for not being sufficiently moved by Torvill and Dean’s opening performances. This week they were accompanied by Leona Lewis performing her new single. I know I supposed to find it moving – there were twinkly lights, a gospel choir and a big ‘ta-da!’ finish – but I just didn’t. Perhaps I need more wine.
Still the show’s not really about Torvill & Dean – it’s about the celebs. This week was the semi-final and, excitingly, all four remaining contestants were rather fab. So often in these kind of shows a clunker manages to make it through, but thankfully not this time.

Props week, this week and, as you may have already seen in the news (it was a slow news day), Suzanne Shaw came a cropper. Such a cropper that it wasn’t certain she would skate.
But she did. In fact, she was out first. And for prop week this year they each had to skate with two props: Suzanne had the umbrella and the chair. In training, doing a handstand move on the chair, Suzanne not only cut her partner, Matt’s, eye, she also chipped a bone in her ankle. The routine had been adapted to ensure her ankle wasn’t permanently damaged, but I was still impressed that she came out and did it. She’s clearly incredibly brave and determined. I’m not a huge fan of props week – I generally find the props distracting rather than enhancing – but it was a lovely programme: entertaining and accomplished. Over the weeks of this competition I’ve remembered why Suzanne was my favourite in Popstars (doesn’t that seem like ages ago?).
