Celebrity Big Brother will feature ‘see-through shower’. Tasteful

Tuesday, August 9th, 2011

Brian Dowling: Taking over from Davina McCall on Celebrity Big Brother

Celebrity Big Brother will feature a see-through shower in the middle of the house.  A glass-fronted bathroom has been installed in the centre of the infamous property, meaning the bathing stars – rumoured to include Amy Childs, Pamela Anderson and Jedward – will be seen from the garden, kitchen and swimming pool.

Show insiders have now dubbed the fly-on-the-wall series – which is being re-launched on Channel 5 next week – “Peep Brother”.  A source told the Daily Star newspaper: “We’re nicknaming the show ‘Peep Brother’.

“It’s going to be the steamiest yet. You can imagine how excited fans will be to see the girls head off to the bathroom in the morning. Viewers can expect some very sexy footage.”

The Celebrity Big Brother house will also feature a 24-hour bar, as producers want housemates to be able to drink whenever they want.

An insider recently said: “Fans don’t want to see a bunch of people sitting around being boring. They want to see them getting drunk so they get randy, go bedhopping and let slip some of their sauciest secrets.

Baywatch’s Pamela Anderson now linked with Channel 5′s Celebrity Big Brother?

Tuesday, August 2nd, 2011

Fomer Baywatch babe Pamela Anderson. Is she set for Celebrity Big Brother?

There’s barely a day that goes by which doesn’t see some B-list celeb linked with Channel 5′s forthcoming Celebrity Big Brother – at least in The Daily Star (which owns the channel).

The latest is former Baywatch babe Pamela Anderson. She has of course already featured in both the Australian and Indian versions of the Channel 5 reality show and is said to be “on the brink” of agreeing to enter the infamous house, with ‘CBB’ bosses desperate to sign her to “sex-up” the series.

She said: “I am very excited about the show. I will just be myself and have fun with the contestants in the house.”

This comes after the 44-year-old star was close to signing a deal to appear on last year’s series on Channel 4, but pulled out at the last minute when her ex Tommy Lee refused to go into the house alongside her.  An insider told the Daily Star newspaper: “The time is right for Pamela and she’s going to be a TV treat for BB fans.”

Meanwhile, Big Fat Gypsy Weddings star Paddy Doherty has also reportedly confirmed an appearance on Celebrity Big Brother when the show launches on Channel 5 later this month.  A source explained: “Paddy will have to get used to a house on Big Brother. But he is up for the challenge of doing the reality show and can’t wait to get involved.”

Former Two and a Half Men actor Charlie Sheen, The Only Way Is Essex star Amy Childs and X-Factor twin singing sensation Jedward are also rumoured to be appearing in the upcoming series.

Has Charlie Sheen signed £6mill Celebrity Big Brother deal?

Is Charlie Sheen set to appear in Celebrity Big Brother?

Charlie Sheen has (apparently) signed up to appear on Celebrity Big Brother.

The former Two and a Half Men actor – who was fired from the £1.2 million-per-episode role after revelations emerged about his romps with porn stars and cocaine binges – has reportedly agreed a £6 million deal to feature on the reality series when it re-launches on Channel 5 later this month.

TV bosses have supposedly pulled out all the stops to secure the troubled star’s place on the show, in the hope his wild antics within the house will make for “unmissable TV”.

Charlie – who will be the biggest celebrity to appear in the Big Brother house to date – will jet in to the UK from his Los Angeles mansion over the next two weeks after agreeing the lucrative terms with show chiefs last week.

An insider told the Daily Star newspaper: “It would be unbelievable. A producer’s dream. No-one would want to miss the chance of seeing what he’s up to and hear the wacky things he’s been saying.

“And let’s face it, he’s been saying some crazy stuff recently.”

The likes of former teen star Aaron Carter, The Only Way Is Essex’ beauty Amy Childs, boxing champion Ricky Hatton and even the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, have been rumoured to appear on the upcoming series of Celebrity Big Brother.

A Channel 5 spokesperson added: “‘Big Brother execs are in talks with a number of celebrities about appearing on the series but we’re not confirming any names at the moment.”

New Big Brother host Brian Dowling ‘won’t let fans down’

Brian Dowling: Taking over from Davina McCall on Celebrity Big Brother

Brian Dowling has vowed not to let Big Brother fans down. The Irish star – who shot to fame after winning the show in 2001 – is to take over from Davina McCall when the series re-launches on Channel 5 with Celebrity Big Brother next month, but admitted the news hasn’t sunk in yet.

Writing on his twitter page, he said: “Thank u all so much for all your love and support!!I won’t let all u BB fans down!!Big Brother House this is Brian,u are live on Ch 5…….

“I am very happy to say that I shall be hosting Big Brother this year for Ch5!It still hasn’t sunk in yet!! (sic)”

However, the 33-year-old presenter – who also won Ultimate Big Brother last year – explained the nerves have already started setting in.

He tweeted: “First day as official BB presenter and off to the gym!!Not what I imagined!!!

“A little nervous but excited!!! (sic)”

With Brian fronting the main show, Emma Willis will host brand new sister show Big Brother’s Bit On The Side.

She said: “I’m so happy that Big Brother is back on our screens! I’m such a massive fan of the show so I’m over the moon that I’ve been asked to be a part of it. I can’t wait to get stuck in.”

Mike Tyson lined up for Celebrity Big Brother – well, according to the Daily Star

Mike Tyson: Is he really going to appear in C5's Celebrity Big Brother

The other house mates may be none too pleased, but Mike Tyson could be laughing all the way to the bank if rumours of his Celebrity Big Brother appearance are to believed.

The former heavyweight boxing champion – who was jailed for raping beauty queen Desiree Washington in 1992 – is reportedly set to join an “amazing” cast on the celebrity version of the reality show when it re-launches on Channel 5 in August.

A show source told the Daily Star newspaper (also owned by Channel 5 owner Richard Desmond): “To get Mike Tyson on Big Brother would be an amazing coup.

“The celebs being lined up for the new Channel 5 show are just amazing – it’s going to be must-see television this summer.”

Mike, whose four-year-old daughter Exodus died following an accident at her mother Monica’s house in 2009, joins a number of stars linked with ‘Celebrity Big Brother’, including Irish pop duo Jedward who have reportedly been offered £1 million to star on the programme.

Producers of the show – which is set to air on Channel 5 for the first time after being axed from Channel 4 last year – are also thought to have Charlie Sheen, Harrods owner Mohamed Al-Fayed and former Big Brother star Imogen Thomas on their wish list.

The 45-year-old controversial boxer, who infamously bit off part of opponent Evander Holyfield’s ear during a bout, has quit drugs and recently renewed his wedding vows with his wife Lakiha Spicer Tyson.

But would you really want to be in the Celebrity Big Brother household with him? If I was one of the other housemates I would be a little worried at this point.

Jedward offered £1m Channel 5 Celebrity Big Brother deal

Friday, June 24th, 2011

John and Edward Grimes - aka Jedward

If you were thinking we’d heard the last of them, then think again. Jedward were recently on Eurovision representing Ireland. Now the twins – John and Edward – have been offered £1 million to appear on Celebrity Big Brother.

The twin singing sensation, who shot to fame on The X Factor in 2009, are said to be thrilled with the deal, which will bag them £500,000 each if they agree to be a part of the celebrity version of the reality show when it re-launches on Channel 5 in August. An insider told The Sun newspaper: “The lads can’t believe their luck – a cool half million each.” I bet they can’t.

After being axed by Channel 4 last year, Channel 5 bosses are keen to ensure Big Brother comes back with a bang when it returns to TV screens later this summer. As well as Jedward, troubled actor Charlie Sheen, Wayne Rooney’s call girl Helen Wood, former Harrods owner Mohamed Fayed and Imogen Thomas, who shot to fame on Big Brother in 2006, all on producer’s wish-lists.

However, Jedward could be set to face a difficult decision, as they have also reportedly been offered places on the upcoming series of I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! after impressing TV chiefs with their performance at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.

A source recently explained: “Whatever your thoughts are on Jedward’s music, you can’t argue that the lads are great entertainment.”

Imogen Thomas to appear in TV dating show

Imogen Thomas it to appear in Imogen Finds a Husband

So Imogen Thomas is set to appear in a TV dating show in the hope of finding a husband (can I suggest keeping out of TV and magazines for more than five minutes might help in this particular quest).

The former Big Brother star, who allegedly had a six-month affair with married Man United footballer Ryan Giggs, is reportedly in talks to appear in new series Imogen Finds A Husband.

As well as being keen to find love again, the brunette beauty is said to be hopeful that concentrating on the new programme will help her “move on” from the very public fling.

A friend of the star told The Sun newspaper: “She wants to get on with her life and move on from the drama surrounding Ryan. And of course she’d like to find love again.”

However, Imogen has also reportedly been offered a number of lucrative deals to appear in a whole host of high-profile shows, including an alleged six-figure sum to feature on I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!

I’m a Celebrity airs in November and bosses want to sign her in the hope her gagging order banning her from talking about Ryan Giggs will be overthrown so she can discuss the affair in detail, and Imogen recently admitted she would be keen to appear in the jungle-based reality series.

She said: “I’d love to go in. I’d wear a bikini every day and make sure I took sexy showers like Myleene Klass did. That’s all she did – and it worked!” Oh dear.

Snoop Dogg lined up to star in ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.

Tuesday, May 24th, 2011

Snoop Dogg is being lined up to star in ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.

The ‘Sweat’ rapper has been approached alongside hip hop radio DJ Tim Westwood as potential housemates for the upcoming celebrity version of the show, which will be broadcast on Channel 5 later this year.

Bosses are said to be keen to sign Snoop as he has led a colourful life, with him jailed for cocaine possession before graduating high school, and then going on to become one of the world’s biggest rap stars.

Writing on twitter yesterday (23.05.11), Tim said: “They asked me to do Ch5 Celebrity Big Brother (sic).

“Snoop said they talkin’ to him. If he goes in – I’m goin’ in! It’ll be the Dawg House (sic)!”

Tim – who is a well respected figure in the hip hop community and a close friend to many rappers – has previously been approached to appear on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ when it was on Channel 4.

ITV bosses are also keen for him to take part on ‘Dancing On Ice’, although he was less enthusiastic about the celebrity skating show.

He said: “Been offered £50,000 to go on ‘Dancing On Ice’ – could you see me wearing sequinned outfits!

“Why is everyone saying I should do it? I’d have to dance on ice with a woman who looks like a man in drag.”

Brian Belo wants Channel 5′s ‘Big Brother’ to be “sexy” and “crazy”

Monday, May 23rd, 2011

Brian Belo wants Channel 5′s ‘Big Brother’ to be “sexy” and “crazy”.

The former contestant – who won the reality series in 2007 – explained while the UK version of the show is “notorious”, he thinks it needs to step up to the level of other countries and become Britain’s answer to ‘Jersey Shore’.

He said: “I want a sexy house. I want it to be pool parties, I want it to be drunkenness. I want them to have friendships, I want them to have relationships, I want to feel like I know them in and out by the end of it.

“I’ve watched a lot of big brothers. I’ve watched the Swedish one, I’ve watched all the Australian ones. They all get naked in the Swedish one. On the first night someone did something naughty below the belt! Our one has been good – it’s been notorious – but we need to compete with the rest of the world.

“When you watch ‘Jersey Shore’ they’re all going crazy all the time. I want Channel 5′s ‘Big Brother’ to feel like ‘Jersey Shore UK’.”

The 23-year-old star thinks ‘Big Brother’ programme makers need to pick contestants who viewers will “connect” with, rather than “weirdos”.

Brian added to the Daily Star newspaper: “The ordinary person who sees people in ‘Big Brother’ talking about society, that’s what’s relevant to them. That is something they can connect with. It captures the imagination of youth.

“This is what the new ‘Big Brother’ needs to do – tap back into what’s relevant for young people. I think it got to the point where young people felt it wasn’t cool enough any more. They’d put too many weirdos in there.”

Former Big Brother winners call for end to ‘freak show’ contest in new Channel 5 version

Thursday, April 7th, 2011

There seems little chance as long as they pull in the ratings, but former Big Brother winners have called for Channel 5 to avoid casting “freaks” in the new series.

The reality TV show – which first aired on Channel 4 in 2000 and was axed last year after ten years – will return this summer on Channel 5. But former BB winners including Brian Dowling and Brian Belo have called for a return to the show’s original roots.

Brian Dowling said: “I’m thrilled but I hope they cast normal people and let them make the drama as opposed to interfering.”

Brian Belo agreed, saying: “I want a proper sexy year where I can say, ‘She’s hot.’ There were too many freaks in the past.”

The show is set to return with a celebrity version, immediately followed by a house full of members of the public and bosses are already lining up the stars to kick off the new season with a bang.

Charlie Sheen, Mohamed Al Fayed, Joanna Lumley, Sam Faiers, Amy Childs, Peaches Geldof and Italian pole dancer Karima El Mahroug (who is alleged to have been paid by Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi for sex) have all been tipped to take part in Celebrity Big Brother.

A source said of Karima: “She’s got everything we’re looking for. She’s sexy, up-front, been linked to major celebrities and been caught up in controversy.”

Big Brother returns on Channel 5 and we look at previous contestants

Wednesday, April 6th, 2011

We thought we’d said goodbye to Big Brother and its wacky contestants but it seems when the house closed its doors last year, noone knew what the future would hold.

The “future” is that the TV show has come back from the ashes thanks to Channel 5 deciding to revive the reality show, and it’s all happening this year with a celebrity version followed by a wacky reality one.

The deal with Big Brother creators and production company, Endemol UK, will see Channel 5 hold the exclusive rights to the series in a two year deal.

Big Brother is one of the world’s most successful television brands having had 19 series aired across 81 territories in 2010 and its global popularity shows no sign of abating.

With this news we decided that it was only right we put together our top five Big Brother contestants. See the gallery below and tell us who your favourite is.

TV bosses are planning to launch a nude version of ‘Big Brother’ in the UK

Tuesday, March 15th, 2011

TV bosses are planning to launch a nude version of ‘Big Brother’ in the UK.

After ‘The Nak’d Truth’ caused a storm across the pond in the US, telly chiefs are now searching for eight potential housemates who are prepared to live without clothes for 30 days at a nudist resort in the sun-soaked destination of Florida.

Producers are appealing to people of all shapes and sizes to audition for the show next month in Blackpool.

Harris Salomon, creator of ‘The Nak’d Truth’, told the Daily Star newspaper: “We plan to take eight Brits and literally strip them naked. We want some seriously interesting Brits to make the line-up. The plan is to roll the show out across the world.

“Clothing is such an integral part of who we are and we don’t understand how it affects us until we no longer have it on.”

Construction manager Tom Annandale, 28, has already been picked out as a potential contestant after his failed tennis court streak attracted the attention of some 60 million viewers on video streaming website YouTube.

He said: “I have had a massive amount of attention worldwide from TV companies but this is the most curious. It makes ‘Big Brother’ look really tame.”

Meanwhile, Josie Gibson – who won last year’s series of ‘Big Brother’ – has landed her own fly-on-the wall documentary show, which will also feature her boyfriend and fellow contestant John James Parton.

A Channel 5 spokeswoman said: “We can confirm that Josie is filming a behind-the-scenes documentary for us called ‘There’s Something About Josie’.”

Channel Five gives Big Brother the kiss of life: We look at the frights and delights

Thursday, February 10th, 2011

Just when we thought Big Brother was well and truly done and dusted, it seems Channel 5 is giving it the kiss of life.

According to The Guardian, the broadcaster is reportedly no more than a few days off signing a deal which will mean the return of the reality TV show, and we presume old Davina too.

Sources say that Five boss Richard Desmond is keen to take on the Endemol production and has already agreed terms and financial details with the company.

“Endemol need the money, which is why they’ve done the deal, having broken it off before,” said one source. “Executives are now down to final details but broadly they are there.”

“Channel 5′s ratings are not great and Big Brother will really help them deliver, particularly given there is nothing on the schedule or seemingly in the works to produce such numbers,” said a second source.

Is this good news or bad and do you think the show do as well as it did on Channel 4?

Leave your comments below and let us know.

We’ve also put together a mini gallery of the frights and delights from the Channel 4 show.

Ultimate Big Brother underway with Chantelle and ex-hubbie Preston

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

Nasty Nick

The Ultimate Big Brother has begun and what a way to end the reality TV phenomenon that has dominated our screens and lives for the past ten years!

Last night we saw Josie win Big Brother 11 who was then joined by ten other faces from previous shows including Celebrity Big Brother contestants.

The first housemate to enter was former Celebrity Big Brother winner Essex girl Chantelle (who if you remember was the rogue contestant who wasn’t actually a celebrity). In true BB style, it only seemed appropriate to make the situation as awkward as possible for Chantelle to be followed by ex-husband and ex Ordinary Boy Preston. We’ll just have to see how that one pans out!

We then saw Big Brother 5 winner, Portugese transexual Nadia Almada enter the house, followed by Brian Dowling the winner of Big Brother 2 who looked rather uneasy about the whole situation.

Next in was Celebrity Big Brother winner Ulrika Jonsson and hot on her heels was Big Brother 6 housemate Makosi and her somewhat prominent assets. Judging by the reaction on Twitter and the audience, I don’t think anyone was happy to see ‘gross’ and ‘disgusting’ horse racing pundit John McCririck enter the house who was swiftly followed by rapper Coolio.

The next housemate was the one who everyone was waiting for – pocket sized drama queen “It’s so cold!” Nikki Grahame. Nikki told Davina that since the last show she has calmed down and matured, though of course, we’re all hoping that isn’t the case.

The Ultimate Big brother wouldn’t be complete without the contestant who really made the show what it is. Nasty Nick. The Big Brother 1 contestant despite not winning the first ever show, is still the most talked about person of the whole series due to his sneaky and evil ways that got us hooked on Big Brother all those ten years ago.

All the contestants will remain in the house for 18 days whereby one will then be crowned the ‘Ultimate’ Big Brother housemate. Should be an entertaining couple of weeks!

Big Brother 11 – Even the housemates can’t be bothered with it

bb11 housemates 2010 THUMB.jpgBig Brother 11 had set itself up to be an explosive, weird-filled funfest in which it would bow-out to the general public of Channel 4, perhaps serving as a reminder of what we could be missing. However, it hasn’t transpired as such and it is now slowly limping out of shot like a sick dog going to die under a hedge.
