X-Factor judges Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh are said to be “at war”. The judges – who have repeatedly clashed throughout the ITV1 competition – are reportedly no longer on speaking terms after Louis slammed Gary’s act Frankie Cocozza as “bad karaoke” and the Take That singer was less than complimentary about Kitty Brucknell and Johnny Robinson’s efforts on Saturday night’s (05.11.11) show.
An insider told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Gary was livid after the show. He stormed away from his seat the second the programme finished and locked himself in his dressing room. Gary slammed the door behind him and really erupted.
“He was fuming and made it clear he didn’t want to join the other judges for their usual drink and chat about the show. Gary had been determined to keep his dignity on screen and refused to be drawn into a full row on air.
“He is worried the constant sniping between the judges is distracting viewers from the contestants. Gary is desperate to turn the series back into a serious competition. He feels Louis is not up to the job and is turning the contest into a ridiculous pantomime.”
Meanwhile, the series has been dubbed the “Fix Factor” after party-loving lothario Frankie Cocozza made it through to next week’s show, despite delivering a heavily-criticised performance on Saturday (05.11.11) and then getting only half-an-hour’s sleep in preparation for last night’s results episode.
Manchester United footballer Wayne Rooney tweeted: “Just turned X Factor off. Disgraceful. 1st time I’ve ever refused to watch it. (sic)”
Cricketer Michael Vaughan added on his twitter page: “That’s it. My X factor watching career is over. Joke. (sic)”
However, Frankie has vowed to stay in and concentrate on his singing this week.
Speaking on ITV2 spin-off show ‘The Xtra Factor’, he said: “I’m not going to go out this week. That’s it.”
