Kirsty Gallacher: Back on Sky Sports and the face of Evian

35-year-old presenter Kirsty Gallacher, who started her TV career on Sky Sports in 1999, has signed up to present a revamped Good Morning Sports Fans on the channel in August, and is loving every minute of it.

She said: “I’ve been back at Sky Sports for about six weeks now and in a way it’s like coming home. I really decided I wanted to get back into sports, it’s always been eating away at me. I was basically asked to go back and that marries exactly with what I want to do.

“I’m going to be launching this new breakfast show. The reason I’ve gone back early before the show starts is because I wanted to re-immerse myself in the sport because with doing light entertainment shows and having two kids, I haven’t kept as up to date as I should have.

“Even though I love sport very much and obviously my husband is involved in it, knowing every transfer and every move or leaderboard in whatever sport it may be is a different thing.”

While Kirsty was thrilled to return to the channel where she made her name, the mum-of-two admitted “stability” was another factor in coming back to Sky Sports.

She said: “I’m loving it, it’s great being back and I think with the kids you want that stability and knowing where you are. I was being offered a lot of freelancing but not stuff I wanted to do and you have to be true to yourself and go ok, ‘I’m 35, I’ve got two kids, I need to be sensible’.”

Kirsty Gallacher warmed up for Wimbledon with Evian, the Official Bottled Water of the tournament, at the Hurlingham Club.
