What I love about Britain’s Got Talent is that it does unearth some truly bizarre acts whereas The X-Factor is really just a glorified Karaoke contest. One of the most bizarre acts this year was Nathan Wyburn who first came to our attention with his portrait of BGT judge Michael McIntyre – made entirely out of marmite on toast.
While his semi-final artwork was a bit lame in comparison, you will be pleased to hear he’s back celebrating the Queen’s birthday. The 21 year old art student has recreated the Queen’s head on a stamp as a 14 x 10 slice toast art portrait to celebrate her 85th birthday this weekend (as you do).
Using ten jars of Marmite and over 140 slices of toast, the masterpiece took Nathan around two hours to complete. So while he may not be performing in front of her at the Royal Variety Performance (that honour goes to Scot Jai McDowell), he is ‘toasting’ the Queen – geddit – in his own unique way!
