It was another explosive semi final for Britain’s Got Talent last night and once again the judges showed that fame had gone to their head, putting through weird Steven Hall.
The middle aged dancer was chosen over Out of the Blue to join Jai McDowall on tomorrow night’s final.
Jai who was awarded a standing ovation from the audience and the judging panel for his powerful rendition of Evanescence’s ‘Bring Me To Life’ – went straight through to the ITV1 show’s grand finale after winning the highest proportion of the public vote.
Comedy dancer Steven – who performed a mash-up of hilarious routines – was controversially put through to the final by the judging panel after landing in the top three alongside singer Edward Reid, who belted out children’s nursery rhymes to the tune of Whitney Houston’s ‘The Greatest Love Of All’.
To a mixture of boos and cheers from the audience, Simon – who was given the casting vote – told the pair: “I’m going to go with what I think the public wants, and forgive me, it’s Steven.”
Despite attracting some of the best comments and most positive audience reactions of the evening, ‘Glee’-inspired male voice choir Out of the Blue failed to even make it through to the final three.
In further controversies of the night, Simon reduced 19-year-old Jessica Hobson to tears by criticising her outfit choice and performance, as well as announcing French body popper Michael Moral will be brought back for a dance-off against fellow mover and shaker Razy Gogonea on tomorrow’s semi-final, despite him being initially voted off by the judges.
So who can you expect on tonight’s show? Firstly there’s caravan resident Michael Collings who wowed in his first audition, while dancer Razy Gogonea is also set to make waves. They are joined by Pip and puppy, Marawa and Antonio Popeye to name a few.
