Manufactured TV bands: The failures and successes

This week X Factor formed girl band Belle Amie moved to dispel rumours that they were splitting claiming they were working on “great things”.

However, it’s well known that TV manufactured bands aren’t always successful when it comes to the music industry. One great example were winners Hearsay, which dropped off the radar soon after their first single and were trumped by runners up Liberty X.

Likewise One True Voice weren’t very successful after they were formed in Popstars the rival. Instead they fell off the face of the earth while their rivals Girls Aloud went on to become one of the biggest girl bands in history.

Now Belle Amie are trying to make it big but we somehow think X Factor manufactured One Direction may just be the next big thing.
