The Inbetweeners wins best sitcom at Rose d’Or TV festival

the_inbetweeners__.jpgHave you seen The Inbetweeners? It’s terrible. It’s a barrel scraper of a show which, unfathomably, continues to be incredibly popular, despite the fact that it is, quite clearly, lazy and uninspired. In the face of all this, it has still managed to win best sitcom at Rose d’Or television festival.

The E4 sitcom, which recently returned for a third series, bagged the gong which is good news in a good week for the show as it broke the audience record for an E4 original commission with more than 2 million viewers.

Every single one of that 2 million are idiots.

Elsewhere, Blood, Sweat and Takeaways won the reality and factual entertainment category and special prizes (presumably a bottle of wine and a box of Celebrations) were handed out to Simon Cowell and ITV soap Coronation Street.

So we make the best television shows, right? No quite.

The festival’s top award for the best programme of 2010 went to a Belgian hidden camera show called that you’ve never heard of called Benidorm Bastards.

And yes – it does look great. Old people being sods to young people. Take a look here.

Mof Gimmers, you are obviously a shallow individual. ‘Every single one of that 2 million are idiots.’ Was there really any need for such a harsh comment aimed at viewers who enjoy The Inbetweeners? I watched it, and I enjoyed it, so I’ll continue to watch it, but does that make me an idiot?

    This is a windup.
Unless you’re an American from Texas in a 10 gallon hat, you can’t help but like Inbetweeners
