The slightly rubbish but ultimately charming Gavin & Stacey bowed out with some schmaltz and everyone thought ‘that’s that then’. However, show creator Ruth Jones has stated that she’s rather keen on the idea of the sitcom coming back on our screens.

She underlined that the show would only return for a one-off special and admitted that ideas for new episodes are still vague.

Speaking at the TV Choice Awards, she told DS: “We haven’t ruled out doing a special at some point in the future, but we’re not doing one this Christmas.”
