The weekend is here! Yes indeed! Summer seems to be over (for the time being) so let us all stay inside and sulk in front of the television set! WAHOO! So what’s on?
Tonight: Home Movie Roadshow, BBC Two, 9pm
You’ve Been Framed? Apparently not. This is members of the public sharing their favourite home movie footage and talking about the clips to… someone or other. It’s presented by Dan Cruickshank and Kirsty Wark – guaranteed TV gold eh? I don’t really know what this is, but it will include stuff from the nation’s archives, which means a video of a young Princess Diana and the personal films of Spike Milligan. Confused? Me too.
Tonight: Pete Versus Life, Channel 4, 10pm
New comedies on Channel 4 have been a bit hopeless for a while, and this one doesn’t do itself any favour by being written by the people who brought us the dismal Star Stories. However, the Peep Show producers have a hand in this, so it might be alright. Here we meet a sports journalist called Pete who blunders his way through life as well as being analysed by pundits. Not a bad set-up. Could be fun.
Tomorrow: Match of the Day Live, BBC One, 5.05pm
FOOTBALL! How we’ve missed you! *kiss kiss kiss kiss* Hang on! Leeds United v Derby County? Oh well, it’ll have to do. Coverage from Elland Road. Kick-off 5.15. New kits and nice looking pitches!
Tomorrow: BBC Proms 2010, BBC Two, 7pm
World Orchestra for Peace! Loud brass bits! Mad conductors! Suits! Violinists getting flowers! KETTLE DRUMS! Resentful cellists!
Sunday: Amish: World’s Squarest Teenagers, Channel 4, 8pm
The charming look at bewildered Amish teens tootles on pleasantly without being overly judgemental. This series could well be one of the best things on telly all year and we probably won’t remember that come the end of year polls. Shame.
Sunday: Sherlock, BBC One, 9pm
Episode one was AMAZING! Episode two was RUBBISH! So what happens this week? Well, Sherlock will lounge around looking handsome in a quirky way and him from The Office will do that face he does in every show he’s in. Effectively, this is Doctor Who with a different jacket on.
