MTV is going to air a digital-only drama called Being Victor. Following from shows like 16 and Pregnant, MTV wanted to mix up scripted drama with young people’s issues.
MTV digital media director Dan Patton told the Guardian:
“I’d been wanting to do a digital-only commission for quite a while, but couldn’t find one that was quite right. It is very on the money for us at the moment following shows like 16 and Pregnant, which seem to be resonating. MTV’s audience wants gritty issues and they don’t just want to watch them – they want to discuss them with their friends and family.”
The show will follow an awkward teenager with vicious, witty blogging persona, and through both of these things, he’ll tell the story of his love life, his best friend’s sexuality and how his sister deals with a sex tape being circulated at school.
The show runs in 20 five- to eight-minute shorts, first due to be published on 7 September.
