Big Brother boss Phil Edgar-Jones has declared that the show’s producers are going to have a two-week ‘Ultimate Champion’ series featuring former housemates… just like we suggested ages ago! We don’t get to gloat like this often, let us have our moment, no matter how tenuous.
Apparently, it will launch after the conclusion of Big Brother 11 (which starts tonight) and will see a group of fan favourites living together, completing tasks and being evicted one-by-one before viewers crown their winner.
Speaking to The Sun, Edgar-Jones revealed: “It’s a bittersweet moment with Big Brother ending, but the Ultimate Champion will ensure we end on a high.
“As well as finding fans’ favourite housemate, it will also be a trip down memory lane as they discuss experiences in the house. It will be a nostalgic treat for people who love the show and remind us why it was so great.”
We suggested the same thing a while back.
For the right balance of niceness, tension and scrapping, we suggested Brian Belo, Derek Laud, Helen Adams, Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace, Makosi Musambasi, Michelle Bass, Nikki Grahame, DJ Spiral, Nick Bateman, Kinga (and her wine bottle) and of course, the greatest Big Brother housemate of all-time (feel free to disagree) Science who could recreate his wonderful “tweedle-dee, tweedle-dum and tweedle-twat” routine.
Oh, let’s not forget Craig Phillips who could sing us out with ‘At This Time Of Year’. As I said last time, “it’d be our generation’s equivalent of Hasselhoff singing as the Berlin Wall fell.”
And meet some of the hopefuls in tonight’s show:
