Have you finished going “What the f—?!” at the latest Skins episode yet? For those who haven’t watched it yet, I won’t spoil the surprise (although, that said, I fear various social networking sites have already done a million spoilers already). Anyway, fans of the show… there’s some good news.
Channel 4/E4 have commissioned two more series of The Hollyoaks It’s Okay To Like, Skins.
That’s good isn’t it?
But guess what? Yep, you’re spot on – the award-winning show will once again, hire an entirely new cast for the second time!
If you’re game, open casting auditions will take place in London and Bristol next month for the fifth series of the show.
Channel 4 said the fourth run, which comes to an end next Thursday (18th March), had outperformed all previous series with a much higher average audience. In fairness, even this Skins naysayer was won over by the newest cast.
The Channel 4 head of drama, Camilla Campbell, said: “Skins has always been about new talent, both on and off screen, and the decision to recast the series every two years is one of the reasons Skins stands out as a truly distinctive show. It’s a testament to the talent and commitment of Bryan Elsley and his team that they are able to pull this off.”
