Celebrities will do anything for a good cause won’t they? Well, apart from promising to never appear on our screens again. Anyway, after loads of them climbed up a massive mountain, a different bunch are all going on a nice bike ride. Well, Million Pound Bike Ride: A Sport Relief Challenge (BBC One, Thursday, 18 March, 9pm) isn’t actually a pleasant jaunt around the park on a bicycle, but rather, something much more hellish.
At the beginning of March a group of slebrities set off from John o’ Groats to cycle nearly 1,000 miles to Land’s End in just four days. This was to raise £1 million for Sport Relief.
At the start Miranda Hart fell off and smacked her bones on the tarmac, David Walliams took a tumble (I bet he was trying to get off with the ground) and they all ploughed on through minus 15 degrees conditions at night.
Sounds rubbish doesn’t it?
This documentary follows their preparations and snaps each rotten mile. However, we’ll all be more interested in ear-wigging in on them all as they all live life together when they probably never intended to spend that much time with Jimmy Carr.
Fearne Cotton, Patrick Kielty, Davina McCall, Russell Howard also appear.
Now I’ve written those names down and read them aloud, the whole things enormously unappealing now. Oh well, it’s for charity. We should give it a chance and suffer too.
