Every so often, ITV flings us a cheesy, but pleasing one-off romantic comedy drama thing. Basically, they remember how much everyone loved Cold Feet and make a new thing that’s a bit like it. Now we’ve got Married Single Other (ITV1, Monday, 22 February, 9pm) which will be filled with pathos and saccharine sweetery and more.

Married Single Other is set in the North and is a gentle look at the awkward dance that is love.

Through smart-arse jibes and council estate warmth, we meet up with Ralf Little who is playing Clint. He’s a pint swilling, gadabout who has his head turned by a leather-clad motorbike model.

Then, Lillie (Lucy Davis who played Dawn in The Office) turns up and that’s when things get a little heavier.

After the froth of the opening, Lillie angers an already angry husband at the women’s refuge where she works and… well… there’ll be very little in the way of surprises but you may well enjoy it all the same.
