Chris Evans to replace Adrian Chiles on The One Show?

The One Show is one of those programmes that really polarise opinion. For some, it seems to produce unnatural levels of bile, whilst other people merely take it for what it is – a throwaway magazine show that is designed to mildly entertain and little more. Whatever you think of it, the ratings are generally very good – so it’s popular with a lot of people right? So you wouldn’t want to tinker with the format I’m guessing. Well…

If rumours are to be believed, former Big Breakfast/TFI Friday/Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush presenter Chris Evans could be replacing Adrian Chiles on Friday night editions of The One Show.

According to The Sun, producers have proposed the move in an attempt to increase Evans’s television presence.

However, Chiles, who is currently negotiating his new contract with the BBC, is said to be unhappy about the suggestion.

A source said: “Adrian loves the show and is unlikely to leave, but he’s not a happy bunny.”

Meanwhile, a BBC spokesperson told the Daily Star: “Adrian is part of our plans for the future of The One Show.”

Surely the BBC aren’t going to tinker with something that is clearly working?

As much as I like Chris Evans is this another attempt of the BBC to place another North West entertainer on prime time TV. Keep Adrian where he belongs sat next to Christine!

Great idea to put Chris Evans on, he has certainly improved the Radio2 show for the middle aged listener.
Plus what a refreshing change to have somebody on the shows thats not plugging a book, video or a tour.

The BBC had the sense to get rid of Woss but they have slipped up even thinking about putting that idiot Evans on show. If they change Adrian for just one day a week then perhaps theyu should get rid of that cr*p Eastenders

The ‘Ginger Whinger’ has spoilt Radio Two breakfast, and now we have to see his sarky grin and squeaky voice back on the telly?
Even though Adrian is a ‘Baggies’ fan he seemed ok to me, no airs and graces, unlike that Ginger burk. Next he’ll be on ‘Woss’ like wages if not already!

If its not broken why fix it. We have stopped listening to Radio 2 since the benile excuse for an adult took over now my favourite show is being messed with.I think we should get a rebate off our licence fee

I am amazed that you are replacing Adrian with Chris Evans on the One show. I havent listened to radio 2 in the mornings since he took over because I cant stand his immaturity and his voice. The One Show viewers raised so much money for sport relief and the banter between Christine and Adrian works well. It is a brilliant show and i love watching it. If Evans replaces Adrian I will not watch it unless I am sedated !!! So hands off the One Show please

Who at the BBC likes Chris Evans and why do they keep thinking the British public like him too? WE DON’T! he is a man with no talent, no charm and no ability. He is the most annoying person on air and has completely wrecked morning radio on Radio 2 and should be dismissed immediately. Listen to the people who pay your salary Mr BBC Radio Controller and do the Right Thing.
