Christmas is within touching distance and, provided you're not crossing your fingers for a flight taking off tomorrow... or indeed, have bought some presents (I've bought none), then you'll be all set for some time off and some fun. But what does the TV have in store for you? Let's have a look shall we?
Christmas Eve
Victoria Wood's Midlife Christmas, BBC One, 9pm
Victoria Wood pokes fun at everything and is joined by Julie Walters, Reece Shearsmith and more. It'll be great and very very Christmassy. Followed by Victoria Wood: What Larks! on 30 December, which is a Behind The Scenes of this Christmas Spesh.
Christmas Day
Doctor Who, The End of Time - Part One, BBC One, 6pm
Ooooh. It's nearly time for the Doctor regenerate or whatever it is he does when someone kills him. David Tennant takes his final bow over two shows and the Master (John Simm) is back. The End of Time concludes on New Year's Day.
EastEnders, BBC One, 8pm
Someone, invariably, will die on Albert Square this Christmas. Someone always does. They usually get run over too, which is rubbish. What about someone getting shot through the face? Anyway, it looks like Archie, the dirty trickster, will be getting more than he'd bargained for this year... but whodunnit?
The Royle Family, BBC One, 9pm
In a special called The Golden Egg Cup, The Royles are back to trump and titter their way into our houses. Ralf Little returns to the show, hoping we all forgive him enough for his dreadful stint in Two Pints). It should be a good laugh indeed.
Boxing Day
Hamlet, BBC Two, 5:05pm
David Tennant plays The Dane. This performance, aped from his much praised Royal Shakespeare stand, hits our screens with some seasonal suicidal thoughts, mental breakdowns, murder and political tussles. Of course, it'll be great. Patrick Stewart also stars and pretty much everyone likes him don't they?
Total Wipeout: Celebrity Special, BBC One, 6pm
If Hamlet is too much for you, watch Total Wipeout instead. It's got famous people falling into pools of muck and Richard Hammond laughs at them while they do it. £10,000 for the charity of the winner's choice.
The Story of Slapstick, BBC Two, 10:15pm
Lots of BOOM TISH! and the universal language of getting smacked in the face with some step-ladders in the name of comedy for us! Buster Keaton, Vic and Bob, John Cleese and the omnipotent Del Boy falling through the bar all feature.
