james-_-corden.jpgJames Corden, of Gavin and Stacey fame, has reportedly kicked off talks with the BBC about hosting a football World Cup show. According to The Sun, the programme wouldn’t be a million miles away from David Baddiel and Frank Skinner’s Fantasy Football series.

“James is a massive football fan and also very funny so this is the perfect show for him,” said a source. “It’s early days but the plan is to borrow elements of Fantasy Football and introduce new format points.

“It will have celebrity guests and people from the world of football as well as feature clips of the action in South Africa.”

Of course, you’ll remember that Corden produced a sketch with the England football team earlier this year for Comic Relief, which saw Peter Crouch using breakdancing moves from the sketch in question.

Let’s just hope it’s better than Horne and Corden and doesn’t rely on the whole “Hahaha! Look! I’m a fat human!” schtick too much.
