What To Watch This Weekend

Ah. The weekend is upon us with it’s stupidly short hours of daylight, rubbish cold weather and crappy people moaning about how dark it is and how chill… oh. Let’s have a look at what’s on TV this weekend instead shall we?

Tonight: We Are Family, BBC Two, 9pm

Reuniting families who have drifted apart and chronicling the resultant dramas and tribulations, in a way we’ve seen on Who Do You Think You Are?. However, this is real people. Tonight, the Minchews have been brought together.

Tonight: Comedy Showcase: The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, Channel 4, 10pm

Some bloke from Arrested Development (not the ethical hip-hop outfit, the US show y’dummy) stars in another Channel 4 comedy pilot. This looks rather good all told. A hapless office bloke ballses up absolutely everything with spectacular aplomb and Sharon Horgan makes a good cameo.

Tomorrow: FA Cup Live: Northwich Victoria v Lincoln City, ITV1, 12:15pm

We all know how bad ITV’s football coverage is. Matt Smith, Andy Townsend and Jim Beglin will do their absolute best to spoil a perfectly good game of football. More FA Cup action on Sunday.

Saturday: 7pm onward The Strictly Come Dancing/TV Burp/X Factor

TV gold!

Sunday: The Queen, Channel 4, 9pm

Drama about our monarch. This is a series of dramas which shows us pivotal events in our history via her. Everything should smell of new paint and stink of swan-fart. That said, there’s something that keep drawing us to that weird, rich old woman.
