Charlie Brooker is looking like a proper TV person these days isn’t he? Despite the fact he continually says things to the contrary, he might just become famous on us. Of course, this will see legions of his fans thinking he’s sold-out or something ridiculous like that… but until then, they can be appeased with the fact that Screenwipe is returning to our screens on BBC Four at Christmas.

As ever, the show will be written and presented by Brooker himself and will be called Charlie Brooker’s Screenwipe Review of the Year.
He’ll be scratching his bonce and firing off potty mouthed rants and raves about what’s been happening in the land of telly in 2009.
This 30 minute special will review the best and worst shows from the last twelve months, with VT reports, snippets of animation and impertinent observations.
Charlie will take a horrified stare at shows such as five’s ‘news’ offering Live at Studio Five as well as analysing events surrounding Nick Griffin’s appearance on Question Time.
Screenwipe’s Review of the Year will include rants about this year’s X Factor- the revamped audition format and Sunday night results show, plus the increased carbon footprint from the brand new light filled set. And just what does Brooker think of John and Edward?
We need to be told what to think. Hurry up Charlton!
