Loose Women has become a byword for everything that's wrong with television. It's also become a byword for everything that's wrong with women as well. Yet, in the face of all this hurled criticism, the show continues to attract generous audiences as the cackling harridans twitter on about all manner of things. Well, now, the queen of the cackling harridan is about to join up with the show... step forward, Cilla Black!

In fairness to our Cilla, she's not that bad. She's a bit of a love isn't she? She'll be hosting this Friday's edition of Loose Women.

The former Blind Date presenter will join the regulars - Sherrie Hewson, Carol McGiffin and Jane McDonald - while Christopher Biggins will be a guest.

That might just be the campest line-up of everything ever.

"I am delighted Cilla will be joining us for the day," said ITV daytime chief Fiona Keenaghan. Once more, with some feeling, eh Fiona?
