The Apprentice (BBC One, Sunday, 7 June, 9pm) has been a TV titan this year, consistently pulling in the viewers, showcasing faintly ludicrous tasks and the idiots that try to impress whilst doing them. And so, the final of the show is upon us and it’s been quite a build up. Noel Fielding/Rocky Dennis/A Cartoon Iron lookalike Debra has been splashed in the rags in her knickers, Lorraine has been in the papers for being a swinger and Alan Sugar’s been in Downing Street presumably putting himself forward to lead Britain as PM.

Favourites have come and gone, with my tip-off still in it to win it. That’d be Yasmina. She’s up against Kate Walsh, who looks like she’s been assembled by a thirteen year old lad who was asked what the perfect woman would look like (Weird Science UK? – Ed).
The two will go head-to-head and Suralan will invariably ham the whole thing up by saying things like “THIS IS THE MOST BLOODY DIFFICULT DECISION I’VE EVER MADE IN MY LIFE!” and “No-one remembers a bloody runner-up!” Of course, that’s all part of the reason why we like the show. He’ll be looking forward to the final too… because the BBC will take that thorn out of his paw which makes him so grouchy.
So what will the final entail? Well, our finalists will have to invent a new brand of chocolates. Not only will that be a difficult task, but they’ll have to do it with all the deadbeat losers cast off from the show in earlier weeks. Still, at least we’ll get to see Ben’s weird little doughy face again and the incredible nonsense that comes out of his mouth.
After the last show, which saw a number of the contestants slapped down a peg or ten, it’ll be interesting to see if they’ve grown, become more humbled, more focused and more aware of what waits for them in Sugar’s real boardroom, as opposed to the TV equivalent. Whatever, it should make for some very good telly indeed and, reality fans, it doesn’t clash with Big Brother in the listings.
Sir Alan will see you now…
