Okay. We normally give you a couple of days notice on good shows that are coming up, but this one is too good to be forgotten about. Basically, if you don't mind staying up late tonight, or indeed, want to record something really cool, you really need to catch Tears, Tiaras and Transsexuals (Channel 4, Wednesday, 17 June, 11.10pm) tonight. I've watched this before on More4 and I can't think of many other shows that I've enjoyed watching as much as this! The documentary follows the first ever World's Most Beautiful Transsexual Pageant which was held in, where else, Las Vegas.

In my review of this, I said: "Transgender documentaries are usually gloomy affairs in Glasgow bedsits, with someone weeping after a botched bout of surgery. This truly celebrated the scene in the best place for it - Sin City, Las Vegas! So out came the feathers and the bared buttocks and the Hi-NRG music and the uproarious laughter. It was a real pleasure to watch."
That doesn't even do it justice. I was giddy after watching the revue and thrilled at the cracking, bitchy one-liners. I was also touched by the stories of those that starred in the show. The struggles to be accepted by their families and friends and the heartwarming realisation that, eventually, people stop analysing things and just accept these gals as people. Stunning people at that.
So tune in to see the assembled ladies competing for crown and a starring role in a sensational Vegas show... you won't see many better documentaries than this. Also, look out for the line that sums up the whole thing better than any fawning critic ever could...
"Yes, I'm a transsexual... but I don't want that to be all I am... I'm just a human being... with some bitchin' clothes."
Do not miss this.
