Big Brother: Surprise surprise!

bbhalfwitnotevic.jpgEntirely as I predicted the other day, the housemate formerly known as Freddie (and now known as Halfwit, a move for which I could in fact kiss the producers) has been nominated for eviction for the second week running. In fact he wasn’t just nominated by his fellow housemates, he was named and shamed in spectacular fashion, clocking up eight votes from the others, a considerably huge amount by anyone’s standards. What can he possibly have done to annoy them so much? On second thoughts, do I really need to answer that?

For all our Big Brother news, views and recaps go here.

It is entirely possible that fellow nominee Cairon could get the boot on Friday after making himself less than popular over the past week – and certainly this could be the case if the bookies are anything to go by.Paddy Power are currently offering odds of 80-1 on the teenager winning the series while amazingly Halfwit is joint favourite with Rodrigo at 7-2, just a shade ahead of Angel and Charlie.

All of which suggests that the Halfwit nomination pattern could run and run – but he’s not the only serial nominee ever to walk through the Big Brother door. Remember some of these people….?

PAUL (series 2)
Memorable for only two things – romancing Welsh ditz Helen Adams while in the house and being nominated for eviction seemingly every week yet somehow seeing off half the house in the process. He finally got the boot on his fifth nomination after finding himself going head to head with Helen – who was left heartbroken when he went.

JON (series 4)
It took four attempts for the housemates to get rid of geeky Jon Tickle (who in hindsight was the only interesting thing about series four). Then just to add a neat twist to proceedings he was sent back into the house several weeks later for what appeared to be no purpose whatsoever.

RICHARD (series 7)
Facing the public vote a whopping six times, the housemates were obviously keen to show Canadian Richard the door, but he somehow made it through to the final. He was joined by fellow serial nominees Imogen (four times) and Nikki (four times)

CAROLE (series 8) The housemates tried – and failed – to eject the oldest housemate in recent memory, who was up for the public vote four times but eventually made it through to the final.

NADIA (series 5)
The Portuguese transexual was nominated for eviction no less than five times – but the public weren’t listening and she went on to win the series, have a pop career, become a tabloid darling etc. etc. There is hope for you yet, Halfwit…..
