We all love a bit of Strictly here on TV Scoop. It has dancing and shouting at each other and sequins and all kids of things going on. I've often wondered how the Beeb could develop their brand and basically swamp us with more Strictly. BBC Two does the very entertaining It Takes Two with Claudia Wonkles during the series itself, and you can watch the US version, Dancing With The Stars, over on Watch. One thing that has been mentioned and on the table for a while now is some sort of TV dancing contest featuring wheelchari-bound people, and now it has been confirmed that this is a reality.

I wasn't expecting the Strictly franchise to branch out into this area, but it makes sense really. BBC Three did the excellent Britain's Missing Top Model last year, and now Dancing On Wheels (working title) will carry on the good work the modelling contest started last year.
The BBC has confirmed that the series will run for six weeks and feature a mixture of celebrities and contestants facing off in a dancing competition. The couples will be compete in the 'combi' event where a standing able-bodied dancer partners a wheelchair user. The winning couple will go on to represent the UK at the Wheelchair Dance Sport European Championships in Israel this autumn.
Some of the celebrities taking part inlcude Strictly alumni Heather Small, Mark Foster, Martin Offiah, Michelle Gayle, and Strictly pro Brian Fortuna will be on hand to put the couples through their paces (he has been teaching wheelchair dancing for the past eight years).
No word yet on when this will play out, but look out for it - if it's half as good as BMTM it'll be terrific.
