Dexter and his own family. It doesn’t quite fit does it? We’re not the only ones who think that either. Dexter himself is even starting to get freaked out about his impending marriage, especially when Rita and Miguel’s wife suggested that Rita sell her place and Dexter sell his and they move into something bigger and more spacious. Together. Makes perfect sense to us cohabiters on the outside looking in, but Dexter wasn’t buying it. His place, after all, is where he stakes his victims out, compiles evidence against them and stores evidence . Soon he would have to give this all up. Thank goodness he had a new ‘project’ on the go.

For all our Dexter news, reviews and interviews, go here.

The sunny city of Miami. Lovely. It’s where people fish, eat fish and drink beer. And listen to Latin tunes. It’s where you can get away with wearing brightly coloured trousers and plus fours. If I lived in Miami I would where plus fours all the time just for the sake of it.

Dexter and Miguel were playing golf, and the DA explained to him that he was working on a case where he was having trouble getting the bad person to court and convicting him of bad things. Turns out this scumbag was on the loose embezzling women and killing them. This was a perfect set-up for some serious Code retribution and Dexter set about righting another wrong.

But as he was planning his next kill, the whole new house thing was really freaking out Dexter, and tension between him and Rita (I’d marry her in a shot) was beginning to build. So he did what any decent, self-respecting man would do in a crisis - he took off for a day’s fishing. But this wasn’t any normal fishing trip; he was travelling up the coast to take out this latest victim and used the trip as a handy cover.

Elsewhere, the sunny city of Miami also spewed up another dead body, which, on the surface, seemed to match with the Freebo murders. This piqued the interest of Ramon, and his renewed obsession with finding the killer of his dead brother prompted him to stride into the office looking for answers. He was convinced this case would eventually lead him to Freebo, but the hilarious Masuka (who was suffering from a crisis of confidence after some a few episodes of piss taking from his colleagues) stepped up to the plate and blitzed him with a barrage of forensics, disproving Ramon’s theory. As Masuka said: “Science is a cold-hearted bitch with a 14-inch strap-on.” Nice. Why can’t I come up with lines like that when I need them?

The evidence that Masuka had fired off was that this body was tampered with post-mortem, which led to new questions. So who was behind these murders and who was mucking out with the bodies, trying to make them look like the same killer had done them all over?

But trouble. Rita, on a house-viewing trip with Miguel’s wife, started to bleed downstairs and was rushed off to hospital. Dexter, of course, was nowhere to be seen or found (he was out killing someone). Thankfully Rita and the baby survived, and Dexter did make it to the hospital. But Prado had been digging, suspicious at Dex’s absence and had figured out everything. It was Prado himself who gave him the information about the bad man in the first place, and he had checked with the coastguard – this Ethan chap had been reported missing, and Dexter was nowhere nowhere he said he was going.

Miguel knew his secret (Dexter killed people in his own version of vigilantism), but instead of turning him in he was proud of Dexter for tking out this nasty piece of work.

Holy monkeys.

Just when I thought the series was beginning to quieten down, this happens. You can’t take your eyes off it. What’s going to happen now? Miguel knows Dexter’s secret… does that mean he’s going to supply names for his new buddy to take out and mete out a very illegal sort of justice?
