A while back, I did a post about the older women that I’ve had a crush on over the years (see link below). In the interests of fairness, I figured I should do one about those handsome older men that are on the box. Of course, being a bloke, I’m not sure I’m the best authority on such a matter. So I asked my Twitter followers (follow me here) for some suggestions. There were a lot of votes for Des Lynam, but weirdly, 100% of his votes came from straight men. Very odd. Alan Dale

Whether you know him as Jim Robinson or Bradford Meade (or even Dr Forrest from Young Doctors if you’re a super fan), Alan has been making ladies hearts-a-flutter for many, many years. His dulcet tones could woo a woman half his age, no qualms.

Rudolph Walker

With all the swagger of a young Lord Kitchener (that’d be the calypso singer) and always sharp in hip clothes, Rudolph is a smooth old bugger who has got more handsome with age.

Larry Lamb

Possibly the most voted for, Larry Lamb seems to have a certain something in his eye that twinkles just for the ladies. With his wood carved face, one Tweeter was prompted to yell: “OOOOH! I LIKE HIM!” He is a suave old sod!

Jon Snow

Jon may not even be the best looking the Snow family, but he’s definitely got something about him that makes you ladies swoon. Hell, he was going out with The Sexiest Woman In News Ever, Anna Ford, once. His socks-and-ties combo, his wicked sense of humour and his good nature will see him getting admiring looks… and at the very least, a few respect shags.

William G. Stewart

Ah, William G. Stewart. Captured the hearts of pretty much every student gal through the mid ’90s who woke up in the afternoon, just to drink tea and gaze lovingly at handsome ol’ Bill. A true silver fox, Bill probably has a villa in Spain or something, where he could take you for cocktails and ballroom dancing. You know it.
