It’s the end of Mad Men’s second series tonight (Tuesday 5 May) on BBC Four (10pm), and what I’ve seen of it, it has been seriously, seriously good. I’m going to have to have a bit of a catch-up because I missed episode four onwards, but that’s ok - there are myriad ways I can do this. Even though series two has been going from strength to strength and has been highly rated across the board (shame no one is watching it), news reaches of casting news for series three.

For all our Mad Men news and reviews go here.

The Hollywood Reporter, no less, reported that Jared Harris is to join series three (which is upcoming in the US this summer) in a major recurring role.

This is what it said:

“In a 10-episode arc on the acclaimed period drama Mad Men, set at the 1960s-era Sterling Cooper Advertising Agency, Harris will play Lane Pryce, the agency’s financial officer.

Harris begins filming today on the Lionsgate TV-produced series, which began production on its new season Monday for an August premiere. He joins returning cast members Jon Hamm, Elisabeth Moss, Vincent Kartheiser, January Jones and Christina Hendricks and guest star John Slattery.”

So not too much info, but it’s any small addition to the cast of this sublime drama is fairly big news. Me? I’m just going to have to catch-up on series two and then wait until next year to see Jared and co in action.
