I’ve been trying to keep everyone up to date with the whole Dollhouse thing. It’s the Joss Whedon-penned series that sees Eliza Dushku play some sort of malleable doll person who gets hired for loads of different jobs. It didn’t have the strongest start in the US, but, by all accounts, has settled down a bit now so it looks as though it could have a future. It certainly has an immediate future in the UK, because someone, thankfully, has signed the series up. But who?

SciFi announced, at the end of last week, that it would broadcast the series in May (from 19 May, actually). Jus to recap, she plays a person who has had her memory wiped by a shady, covert agency (they’re always shady and covert). From now on she can have different personalities and skillsets downloaded to her brain. As you can imagine this brings great benefits to whoever wants to hire her – she could be an assassin, a computer hacker or just a left back for West Bromwich Albion.
Anyway, SciFi, in jubilent mood, has also announced that it has also snapped up the rights to the new Knight Rider, whose future in the States is uncertain after a disappointing return.
Good for SciFi, that’s what I say. After Heroes was unceremoniously ripped from its grasp by a predatory BBC, it’s good that the channel has some UK Premieres once again.
