horne_corden_-.jpgTV’s new Hale and Pace, James Corden and Matthew Horne, are going to form a band for a new ITV2 show, according to the tabloids. The pair will perform at this summer’s Isle Of Wight festival and their attempts to make and create music… and play it of course… will apparently be chronicled in a new series called We Are Rock Stars. Of course, this is not James Corden’s first foray into music TV, as one of his first TV roles was in boyband comedy, Boyz Unlimited.

“They’re setting up a band from scratch, which is a hell of a challenge, so the set list is likely to include songs that aren’t too taxing but will get everyone going,” said a source. “James’s experience of fronting music gigs extends to playing the cornet at school, so it should be interesting to say the very least.”

This year’s Isle of Wight festival will be headlined by Neil Young, Razorlight, Stereophonics and The Prodigy, which means the competition isn’t all that tough. The comedy pair will play at the festival, which takes place at Seaclose Park, Newport from June 12 to June 14.

Let’s hope they’re more Flights of the Conchords than Jasper Carrot.
