Something pretty weird happened in the last series of Strictly. John Sergeant was patently a rubbish dancer, but his performances delighted a nation to point where, despite ultra-negative comments from the judges, the nation voted him in pretty much every week. The fact that The Sarge was being voted in at the expense of better dancers caused uproar, culminating in press conferences and a barrage of media comment and opinion. Now the same thing is happening Stateside too. Say hello to Steve Wozniak.

Last week, Steve Wozniak (co-founder of Apple) scored 10 out of 30 for his samba (it ill advisedly featured a break-dance move), which rooted him to the bottom of the leader board. After a barrage of criticism from the judges he was favourite for elimination, but, after some strong audience voting, he's still in there.
There are now Save The Woz websites (voteforwoz.com), facebook groups and Twitter accounts all mobilising support for Wozzer, which all sounds very familiar. Discussions are taking place within the American TV-watching fraternity speculating as to whether the judges' comments are actually helping to keep the Big Man in there. This was exactly the same thing that happened to The Sarge. Where will stop? You'll have to watch, erm, Watch every Friday night to find out. Here's a clip of him in action:
In the meantime, the channel has employed the lovely Camilla Dallerup - current co-winner of Strictly - to teach people how to dance via snippets of video. Have a look at her jive workshop here.
