10 Reasons why I loved the second episode of Being Human

Going away for the weekend, and the ensuing snow, played havoc with my TV watching schedule, so I missed episode two of Being Human. I've just caught up with it on iPlayer and it was... wow. Quite sexy, quite gory, quite everything. It featured a guy called Tully, who presented himself to George as a fellow werewolf, and moved into the house after he had charmed Annie and Mitchell. He wanted George to embrace his inner wolf, and tried to instill a primeval confidence in him. It didn't really work and it turned out that he was the werewolf that bit human George all those months ago. Annie, meanwhile, was coming to terms with the fact that she may be stuck in one place forever, and Mitchell was still resisting the urge to feed. A great, great episode. Bit late for a review now, but there are some casual observations and my best bits after the jump...

For all our Being Human news and reviews, go here.

1. Russel Tovey's arse baring. Again.

2. George's scary transformation into a werewolf.

3. "We're British. You're not allowed to speak to your neighbours after you've nodded to them for 15 years."

4. Werewolf survival training with Tully. Double bags, wet wipes and chicken on a piece of string.

5. Bitchy Nina, the acting sister at the hospital. And George's terrible attempt at chatting her up.

6. Lauren on being a vampire: "It's like Hotel California. You can check in but you can't leave."

7. Mitchell: "Things move and shift and settle again. It's like... what are those snowstorm things called?" Annie: "A snowstorm."

8. The fact that Mitchell revealed he was an extra in Casablanca.

9. Vampire porn!

10. Werewolf fight at the end!

I've been looking for a discussion about this - totally agree on your points (apart from the Tovey's arse bit!), it was a fantastic second episode. I was a little worried the standard might slip after the first (seeing as how that was based on the pilot anyway) and that the new actors wouldn't be much cop. They seem perfect
though and the script is quality.

It's great that on a night when you could be rotting your brain watching Heartbeat and the like (I know I shouldn't say that, it's an institution), you can watch something witty, intuitive and bloodthirsty instead!

Good stuff.

This is all very true. But the big question is how much longer do we have to wait for Mitchell to get his kit off? I'm not sure I can take so much as another glance of Russel Tovey's naked arse...
