Friday nights just don't seem the same without Stephen Fry. If you're shattered after a tough week, there's nothing better than sitting down to an episode of QI. In fact, it's almost worth staying for. Almost. Even the Beeb agree - they've bumped it over to BBC1 which clearly means "QI is more popular than University Challenge."
I wasn't that impressed with the first episode, but I think the success of the show depends largely on the guests. Alan Davies is always funny. Always. But if they've got some clever clogs on the show (Clive Anderson, I'm looking at you) then it's a bit dull, isn't it? Don't tell us facts! Make stupid jokes! Bad Mexican accents!
The show this week gives us Pam Ayers, Johnny Vegas and Sean Lock. I like Sean Lock. I actually dreamt I was married to him last week (why?). It's got a good line up and they should have settled into the series now. Last week was funny, but it didn't have me roaring with laughter. But Stephen Fry and Alan Davies make a great team so I might just order a takeaway and settle in on the sofa. It's cold outside.

The extended version on a Saturday (QI XL) is even better
