We haven't seen these two behemoths of British comedy together on telly since, erm, Spaced wasn't it? Anyway, they've both gone on and done very well for themselves since - Simon Pegg in the movies, soon to be seen in the Star Trek film, and Nick Frost, who pops up from time to time on sketch shows and as gay hairdressers in awful teen/chick flicks (Wild Child if you haven't seen it). So you can understand my excitement when I turned on my television set last night to see them advertise this year's Comic Relief, which takes places on Friday 13 March. The trailer is after the jump and you can go here to read more about fundraising activities. There also seems to be a lot of Gavin And Stacey stuff associated with this year's event (see picture of the lovely Joanna Page), including Ruth Jones and Rob Brydon releasing Islands In The Stream. Apparently a BeeGee is on backing vocals. No, really. Great news though (about the song being released, not necessarily the BeeGee).

That Joanna Page snap is great. Is she the loveliest young woman in telly at the mo? Quite possibly.
Methinks Comic Relief have got it bang on with the new merchandising this year. Here's hoping the TV aspects are bang on.
