As you all know, we here at TV Scoop think that the latest, seventh series of Spooks, which comes to an end on Monday, is easily the best yet. Consequently this means it’s one of the best things on television. It’s all been going off in this series – Adam and Ben died, Connie was a spy (well, they’re all spies but you know what I mean), Jo was lovely and gorgeous but mentally unstable, Ros’ cold , icy stare came on in leaps and bounds and new man Lucas slotted in very nicely. And I haven’t even mentioned Harry or his goings on. So, just when you thought that Spooks couldn’t go an at this pace, you had better think again.

Yes, the good news is that it is to return for an eighth series next year. Hurrah shouts one and all.
The BBC notified everyone this morning, trumpeting the fact that it has been consistently been attracting over 5.7million viewers on both BBC One and BBC Three, and has been massively critiquely acclaimed.
Person from Kudos said this: “Spooks is currently enjoying an exceptional run on BBC One and BBC Three and viewers will be shocked when this series ends with a sting in its tale. As for next year …we’re currently working with our fantastic team of writers to predict the big stories for 2009 to keep Spooks prescience in these dramatically changing times.”
So right mate, so right.
Series eight starts filming next January for a late 2009 broadcast. I want to boogaloo till I puke.
