So here we go for the second episode of Peter Flannery’s superb English Civil War drama (Channel 4, Wednesday 26 November, 9pm). Tonight’s episode sees Angela (the magnificent Andrea Riseborough) stripped of her aristocratic lifestyle and on the run, all grubby like. Some men of ill repute try to take advantage of her, and it takes an unlikely man of sort-of-much-better repute to step in and offer her a way out. How good is this series?
