In all the years of my watching TV, both professionally and merely sitting on my arse, idly gawping, no show has ever changed the way I watch things. Basically, I've always over-analysed and picked over the bones and occasionally shouted obscene things at the screen. The only difference now is that I remember what rude things I've shouted and write them down the morning after and someone pays me for it. Madness. However, something weird has happened. Since Harry Hill's TV Burp, I've started playing a game...

When I'm watching the TV now, in between analytical thought, remembering the important bits that you've hopefully noticed too and hurl obscenities, I've now started shouting "TV BURP!" On top of the mounting things I'm trying to keep track of, I've now starting looking for those weird things that Harry Hill spots. Do date, I've not managed to spot one. I will feel stupidly pleased with myself when one of my guesses appears on his show.
Even when I was watching (the sublime) The Restaurant, I never noticed "the sign language for soup". I was hawking every frame of that show and that passed me by. This of course, has made me more determined to find more.
With that, I thought I'd share it with you to see if you'd been doing the same... and if not, to encourage you to do it. It really is a mindlessly brilliant thing to do when you're watching the telly. Of course, you can 'make it a little more interesting' by having some kind of prize if you get a 'TV Burp' (you get brews made for you all Sunday after you've watched Burp on Saturday arvo or whatever). Hopefully, Harry will rip into the cake scrap on Eastenders...

The bit on Eastenders where Pat was going through her box of 'toys' had me and my flat mate shouting at the TV that it was going to be on TV Burp and it was.... Got my copy of the best of DVD today from Play! I also found www.tv-burp.com where you can watch clips and stuff.
Absolutely! One of the only reasons I watch Corrie and Emmerdale (apart from having no choice but to) is so that I can try and spot the TV Burp moments. Top tip for Corrie I would give: Is Eileen Grimshaw in the scene? She's absolute gold.
hi i love harry hills tv burp its really funny but some times its stupid
