No more Bonekickers

bonekickers_s01e03.jpgOur John, when faced with a rumoured second run of Bonekickers said: “The question uppermost in my mind is: why?” Our Editor Paul wrote: “I’ve really never seen so much hatred reserved for one show.” Our readers were not fans by any stretch of the imagination. Well, if our readers are indicative of the nation’s collective mindset (which I think you are) then prepare to breathe a big sigh of relief. Bonekickers has been cancelled.

In something resembling a mercy killing, the BBC have decided that they’re not going to commission a second series of archaeological drama Bonekickers. The show, if you’re lucky enough to have not seen it, had a bunch of archaeologists solving historical mysteries in a badly sexed up way and, instead of capturing some Da Vinci Code style fever, it made everyone want to go out and beat archaeologists into a bloody pulp in the street.

A BBC spokesman told Broadcast: “Ashley Pharoah and Matthew Graham have decided to concentrate on new projects and not write a new series of Bonekickers. We look forward to working with them in the future.”

You may be wondering why on earth the BBC are sticking by these writers. Well, they scribbled for Life on Mars. If they hadn’t, it’s not a great stretch of the imagination to think that they’d probably be signing on now.

Bonekickers was a fantastic show. It is the best. It was wrong to cut the programme. I loved watching it. It is the best programme ever I miss it. If other people think it is a bad programme then they need to change there life style. That is all I am saying.
