What to watch through your fingers: Kerry Katona on This Morning

I’m all for taking the piss out of people on the box, but sometimes, you have to hold back because something doesn’t feel right. I’m talking about Kerry Katona and her performance on ITV1 show This Morning, which all seemed horribly wrong. So wrong that people have been phoning the station to see if she’s okay. Slurring her words, Katona prompted Phillip Schofield to say: “You don’t seem right to me… Your speech is a bit slurred, how are you feeling?” Katona seemed quite shocked at the question and put it down to prescription drugs she had taken to help her sleep. She said that the drug she’d taken was Chlorpromazine, which is an anti-psychotic drug.

Her battle with drugs and depression and subsequent rehab has been well publicised, often in a pretty cruel manner. In reference to a recent magazine article which suggested Katona had been seen drinking while in Marbella for a photo-shoot, the show’s co-host Fern Britton asked: “A lot of people say when you have an addictive personality and you get rid of one addiction it’s replaced with another. Is it alcohol?” Katona refuted the claim.

I must say I was in shock at 1st when I heard her sluring her words, before Phil had asked kerry, i was thinking…”please someone stop this interview, this woman is clearly not well”

The makers of this morning should be ashamed of themselfs for putting her on the telle today in that state.

Kerry is unable to get her life back on track cause she keeps doing THIS to her self, stop with the media Kerry, stop with the interviews and stop kidding yourself on and saying you are FINE. You aint fine and in the end the media is going to break you so bad with all the negative talk about you. Get help Kerry, not just for you but for your kids.

Well, what a disgrace kerry katona was on this morning.
This interview should have been abandoned. her eldest daughter mollie is 7, bet she was watching it and seeing her mother in a right state. poor bloody kids, havin a mother and supposed role model like that!!
i used to have alot of respect for kerry, but ever since she married that mark croft things have definately gone downhill for her.
dont you think you’d be better of yourself kerry!!!!

i am so upset to see kerry like this she obviously has or still is going through alot of heartache in her life i just hope she can look at this and c tht people arnt being nasty to her (well i aint0 but c tht there r people out here tht do really hope tht she is ok 4 real.

I don’t know how it’s the media’s fault. She clearly chose to go on to the show in that condition to plug her TV programmes. No one made her to do it. The fact that she made a fool of herself on national TV isn’t This Morning’s fault. It seems clear to me she does have a drinking problem. But she’s also a grown up. And she should have the intelligence to deal with her problems, rather than constantly demean herself in this way.

I think that sometimes these celebs need a kick up the butt. We all have troubles to deal with. Bills, money worries kids all sorts and most of us cope and would give our right arms for the chances they have had and they seem to throw it all away on drink and drugs. But watching kerry distroy herself on live telly was awful. And where were her friends or even that useless husband, they should have gone on set and taken her off. She needs people to help her, not to get her doing things that will make it all worse just for a quick buck. The worst thing about it is all the press ect from this will probably drive her have another drink or to do more drugs. For god sake somebody please, help her.
