Can you believe how nearly right I was? Can you? I can't. One judge giving a different decision - just one! - and I would have finally made a correct prediction.
Just in case you missed it - Heather Small and Don Warrington were in the dance-off (yes, as I predicted!). I thought Heather second performance was actually much worse than her first. I didn't think she "performed" it any better - it still looked lacklustre to me - and she actually made a lot more mistakes.
In contrast, I thought Don's dance-off performance was better than his first. Yes, he still had a very odd expression on his face, but his posture was better and he seemed to be dancing *with* Lilia rather than just next to her.
In fact, after the two dances, I expected the judges to save Don unanimously. But I was wrong: Craig, Arlene and Bruno all plumped for Heather, while only Len voted to save Don. Which wasn't enough. Don was out.
And while I think that was the wrong decision on the basis of the dance-off, it was probably okay overall. Don really hasn't improved much, if at all, so it was probably time for him to go.* Seemed like a nice man, though. And I'll miss Lilia.
* Then again, you could argue that Heather's been getting worse, so maybe *she* should have gone.
