Dawn Porter gets so close to her subjects that sometimes, it’s easy to think that a little part of her is lost forever to them. If there’s one thing about Dawn Porter that helps her against the pack, it’s the fact that, despite her clear intelligence, she also thinks the same way as a lot of her viewers do. With the last show, looking at mail order brides, she assumed the same things I did before jetting off, and discovered a whole snake-pit of facts that aren’t apparent unless you’re in the business. So looking at the world of the Geisha, are we to assume it’s all pretty little steps and tea-pouring?

Dawn will of course debunk the rumours and she goes on her crash course in ancient ritualism, which in essence, is there to appease and please wealthy Japanese businessmen. Will Dawn be allowed to entertain a client on her own? Will she discovers some weird truths? I’d stick a month’s wages on it.
