Now the nights are drawing in and the autumn schedules are beginning to kick in, it’s time for some serious telly watching. One of the BBC’s big guns, Merlin, starts this coming Saturday (20 September, 7.30pm) and already comparisons with Harry Potter are being bandied about like a big bandy thing. I’m expecting it to look great, be very good fun, be better than Robin Hood (not difficult) and highly untaxing on the brain. I’m looking forward to it actually.
