You hate Jade Goody, right? I really dislike her, too. But I'm wondering how we all feel this morning after reading that Jade Goody has been diagnosed with cervical cancer (although reports now say that this hasn't been totally confirmed). Shockingly this news was delivered live on Indian television, while she was busy trying to make amends for her Shilpagate stuff.

I say shocking because, come on, think about it - some of Jade Goody's most important life moments have been played out in front of a live TV audience. She became a star thanks to Big Brother, she appeared on all kinds of shows, in all kinds of magazines (some of which have Jade to thank for for pretty much their entire circulation), she dramatically fell from grace thanks to 'reality TV' and now, trying to make amends for her outbursts, this happens. Sheesh. You wouldn't wish it on anyone.
According to reports this morning, Jade had suffered collapses and loss of blood at home recently. She went for tests but was determined to appear on the Indian version of Big Brother, and this is where, after being called into the diary room, her diagnoses was revealed. Afterwards, she re-emerged, sobbing, saying: "I have cancer".
Thankfully, this footage was not broadcast and I really hope it won't be broadcast in this country either. To me that would be taking the whole voyeurism TV thing far too far.
As for Jade, I hope she makes a speedy recovery. Whatever anyone makes of her, she's a mum to two kids. It's just an astonishing twist of fate that this news was revealed on a show that has been a help and a hinderance to her.

Thank you, thank you to the writer of this post for voicing my thoughts exactly. Goody is not a exactly sweetheart and I usually never bother with celebrities etc, but conveying the news through a live tv program is simply disgraceful. I'm relieved the footage was not broadcast - but I wonder how soon it will be leaked on youtube on some user's attempt at getting views.
Hope she pulls through. As you said, she's a mother and a human being.
I never considered her 'racist', just a bully and that bullying was more led by someone else who pretty much got away with it - because she was prettier/smarter?
