Charlie Brooker‘s new E4 zombie show (a thriller? A comedy? Both?) will be based in the Big Brother house. The show is called Dead Set and will be a five-parter, opening with an hour long special, followed by four half hour shows. However, there’s a big risk in this…

Brooker’s new show used a set based on the Big Brother house and is set to use “many elements of the format”. The Big Brother building will be one of the final safe houses as zombies take over the country, but the contestants are not aware of the walking dead outside.

Now, in all honesty, I’ve got nothing bad to say about this. Charlie Brooker is a smart cookie and I like him a lot. However, his previous foray into the world of TV was an extension of his Screen Burn format. Naturally, this jump to an original programme will see him seriously out on a limb. I imagine there are people ready to kick this to death after some of the abuse he’s lobbed pinless toward a whole host of shows.

Let’s just hope it’s good eh?

Brooker’s already done a TV show that was an original programme: Nathan Barley.

    Do your research!

I agree, you could have at least googled him and checked things out before you write down your drivel and waste precious internet space.

If we’re getting into finite detail, then I’ll add that this is Charlie Brooker’s first outing on a proper show… solo. Nathan Barley saw Brooker working with a seasoned TV chap by the name of Chris Morris.

    Cheers
