A warning for everyone out there who loathes those annoying lifestyle programmes that people say there are too much of on telly these days. This week heralds a veritable rash of new series (well, two or three), featuring some of the genre's biggest names. There's Trinny and Susannah, there's Mica and Lisa... it's all happening. For my money - and I'm certainly not the target viewer demographic - Gok Wan has this area sewn up by being brilliant, genuine fun as well as genuinely inspiring. Trinny and Susannah, on the hand, are really annoying. Their programmes try to do some sort of things as Gok's, but there's just something unfathomably uninvolving. But anyway, that argument is for another day. Shall we have a look at what's in store this week? Let's...
So Trinny and Susannah are back with The Great British Body, a three-part series (on every night from tonight on ITV1 until Wednesday), which attempts to celebrate the, erm, British body. What they're attempting to do is assemble a crowd of people between now and Wednesday to participate in a massive naked, human sculpture.
On Wednesday, (and this is a nice bit of scheduling by BBC One) there's What Not To Wear Revisited. This will see Mica Paris and Lisa Butcher pay a surprise visit to two women whose lives they ruined turned around a year ago. Will they still be following those sartorial rules?
Last but not least is the second episode of 10 Years Younger, which, this week, sees Nicky Hambleton-Jones and her team help out Dee, a care worker who looks rubbish or something.
So, lots on... for a week. Then it's football and Big Brother. Big Brother and football. Enjoy it while you can.
