I've said that this series was make-or-break for Big Brother. However, after covering the opening night, the one that sees BB setting out its stall, it's clear that no lessons have been learned from previous series. To only further the case, Alexandra De-Gale has been removed from the result of her repeated intimidating and horrendous behaviour. This could hardly have been a surprise for the producers. I'd only seen her for 10 seconds on the opening night and said "Alexandra... comes a horribly misguided sense of self-worth. I imagine she's going to be argumentative and begin sentences with 'I'm not being funny yeah? But...'".
It seems that Channel 4 are intent on causing forced furore or, weirdly, that Alexandra was some kind of sacrificial lamb so that the producers could show everyone that they're doing right this year. Either way, I can't take it seriously as it's the producers who caused this to happen in the first place. It reminds me of that tale when someone throws a gun at someone's feet and tells them to pick it up and when they do, they shoot 'em saying "you saw it everybody, he had a gun...".
Anyway, the news from the Big Brother house is that the public vote-out has been cancelled because of this Alexandra debacle. She was told that she was out on her ear due to unacceptable conduct. Channel 4 revealed that Alex made intimidating remarks last night about her plans when she leaves the house.
While discussing her nomination, she allegedly told Darnell: "I'm not throwing water at anyone. It's bigger than that... personal offence is never forgotten. Do you know what I mean? We are just inside the house. I've got a very, very, very, very, very strong team outside the house.
"I just can't wait to see my mans and them and see what their plans are, who they got... I'm not talking about those mans, I'm talking about my gangster friends. They got some instructions to follow out. I get to go out, see everyone's friends, I get to see their family. I get to do the shit that I wanna do. Pow, pow, pow."
This Friday's eviction is now cancelled. Next stop, cancellation of the entire series.
