sugar.jpegThere’s no smoke without fire right? Unless you invented the smoke machine. Anyway, Little Alan Sugar is getting his tiny little knickers in a twist after being accused of using a booster seat on The Apprentice.

Responding to the rumours, Sugar told the Press Association: “That’s a load of rubbish. The chair is fixed to stop it moving backwards and forwards while allowing me to swing to the left and the right. Anyone who watches the programme will know that I stand next to Nick and Margaret and the candidates, and I’m seen getting out of the car thousands of times,” he said.

At the time of press, we could not confirm whether Siralan had been seen getting out of Dinky cars or not. Still, read over for 5 amazing facts about Alan Sugar that I bet you didn’t know.

1. Siralan’s mother used to call him ‘The Great Optical Illusion’ thanks to his small frame. When a local police officer visited a young Alan (on charge of throwing stones at woodlouse) he apparently remarked “Good lord! He’s so small that, at the end of the couch there, it gives the impression that this settee is a mile long!”

2. Not many people know this, but Siralan’s company, Amstrad, is actually an acronym for A Man Small enough To Safely Ride A Dormouse.

3. It’s rumoured that Randy Newman’s ‘Short People’ was aimed at Siralan, so in response, he recorded an all-star record called “Leave Us Alone You Big Get” with Ronnie Corbett, Wee Jimmie Krankie, Richard Hammond, Wee Man and Gary Coleman. The recording sessions were frayed after Krankie spotted Sugar’s ‘stacked heels’. (you can listen to ‘Short People’ by clicking here)

4. Alan Sugar has thespian tendencies and was on the shortlist for the role of Mini-Me in the Austin Powers movies. It’s rumoured that he was inspired after talking to Star Wars hero Kenny ‘R2-D2′ Baker who ‘towered over Alan, picked him up and kissed his little face’ (according to A Sauce).

5. Alan Sugar’s fortunes began by his saving huge amounts of money on clothes. Instead of ‘wasting all that money’ on adult clothes, he prefers to shop at Mothercare or, for big occasions, ‘The City Gent Boy Tailors’ of Savile Row.

The final of The Apprentice is on tonight, BBC One, 9pm.
